Yes, another run in with a 03-04 Cobra tonight. My buddy and I were out doing some logs after I changed the oil. We played with the boost controller a little and got 14-14.5 lbs out of it. Up from the 10.5 I had against the turbo 03 Cobra I posted about in this thread...

We made a few pulls down the interstate and got off to head back home. Sitting at the stop light we see a Red Fire Cobra roll by. I noticed it had external fuel pumps on it and dumped exhaust. I immediately turn around and pull up behind him at the stoplight. We were waiting to get back on the interstate and this on ramp had two lanes and it is pretty long. There was a car lined up next to the Cobra so he slowed down and let it go ahead of us. I slide over and get next to him. We hit it at the same time and immediately start to spin so I let out. We get on the interstate and do two more runs. He jumped both out ahead both times and I stayed right at his door. These runs were at 12.5 lbs or so.
We got off the next exit and stopped at the gas station. He had a 3.3 Lysholm blower on E85. Car had a cage in it with a baby seat in the back, haha. Anyway, he said he ran a 10.30 @ 132 missing 4th gear. He said he was making low 20's psi and was having problems with his bypass valve so usually he makes mid 20's. I have no clue, will leave that to you guys to tell me if that sounds right.
He wanted to do another run for fun though. We hop back on the interstate and go at it again. This time I am on the 14.5 setting and brake boosted. We went from a 50 or so and were off on three honks. He started slightly ahead of me but I started passing him in 2nd gear and when it shifted to 3rd I started creeping away. We shut down around 140 and I had about a car on him. Again, had no video camera on us but my buddy got a video with his potato phone. He was a real cool guy. I can't believe I have had the opportunity to race two of the more stout Cobras around Des Moines.
Don't poke fun at the video, it's what we had to work with tonight. Didn't expect to get a run in at 9:30 pm, and either did this dude who just got off work.
