Regal vs Boss

It's the one in my sig. V6 Firebird. Some people think it is stupid, others enjoy seeing something done a little differently. Thankfully the majority of the mods on my car exist because of the LSX F-body market. Most of the money I spent on my car is in the chassis/drivetrain/suspension department. The current engine in NA form is just right for my needs, exactly how I set out to do the build in the first place. It's a little more efficient than stock, more power and the sound is hard to beat for a V6.

It's entertaining to see what kind of mental gymnastics a few of them will do to try and somehow discredit what my car is.
So far we have the boss is 'basically stock, save for noise mod and tire'
Coming from the guy who drives a 16 second cobalt and had one hell of a failure of a 3800 setup, it's no surprise that he's epically lost when it comes to faster cars.

The hate is strong in this thread It's a Turbo V6, deal with it. This is the same hate that even went around with the old Turbo Buicks back in the day. Some just can't get over the fact that that there's people that just don't care to go the easy path. My dad helped his buddy wreck shop on the streets in the early 90's with his GN. Few cars could touch it outside of those running big blowers and slicks.

Both me and my friend Ray (speed shop owner) think its appropriate to order one since it seems the intake setup on the car is a restriction based off what happened on the dyno. The car literally picked up 8whp and 8wtq after 6k to redline by removing the maf insert from the air intake. It removed maybe 5/16 of an inch. The CJ intake is literally a boss intake with a bigger TB opening and much more plenum volume. Runners are nearly identical which is why there is no low end tq loss. It just has gains up top. we are also going to make an intake for the CJ tb. I dont want a restriction in the air intake.

Jump to 1:35. Someone should tell this guy that eibach sportlines are not optimal for a 28inch slick. Pisses me off to see how hack that rear suspension is. You can hear how hard the tires hit the wheel wells.

Not much to read over on GPF other than a bunch of people who drive sub 200whp cars debating over why everyone is stupid and how there's only 1 way to go fast with a 3800 engine in your car.
The head guy is an admin/mod over there, he deletes threads and posts that don't fall in line with his ideology or if he simply doesn't like someone. In his infinite wisdom he posted this response to these videos.
To give you an idea of what this guy is like, here's his car.
A base model cobalt that scrapes the ground and makes about 90whp.
It's also sticker bombed.
His attempt at building a 3800 ended in catastrophic failure and a subsequent part out.
Pretty much the status quo over there.

I love how it's the Regal by a car in the thread.
That boss pulled hard after the Regal shifted. Funny how the brakes always come on when that pull starts or the video ends lololol.
About as funny as a GT-R race. Also, full bolt ons after a few vids shows just intake/exhaust/crapbox tunes making 430~ WHP give or take 5-10RWHP.
So, besides the slicks out back...and some noise mods...the boss was pretty much stock. Congrats Regal guy.

Nice pic... and good. I just have to figure out a good TB for it... and ill port that as well lol
Right now i rev 8k in fourth but i shift around 7700 since power is falling off
8500ish. The intake should jump the power up fairly well from 6k to redline...which is where i could use it. Right now the car peaks at 6400 and starts nosing over at 6800...not hard... but it does start to fall...then by 7700, its falling a bit quicker. From what ive read, this is normal of a boss with a good longtube on it. And with the cj intake, have actually had to rev it around 8200.
