It all boils down to personal experience realistically. Regarding the BMW issues, the interior design, etc. No one is wrong here because of personal experience and personal opinions. I'm done here.

BTW, interior "opinions" and warranty issues aside... the M3 has always been one of my favorite cars.. I can see myself going to Tail of the Dragon in one, and turning the steering wheel white from all the fun I would have.

And I would love to have a mustang built for the drag strip.

I'm still trying to shake the E60 M5 I rode in out of my mind. Still can't believe how something simple like active bolsters can rock your world.

In Jun of 2010, I was on the hunt for another vehicle.. I have always been in love with the 6 series Coupes... I started my search for an 06-08 M6, and upon further research decided against it, because of maintenance costs, and overall long term reliability... I read and reread the BMW forums about problems people were having.. so nixed the idea... ended up getting a 2010 Lexus RX450 hybrid.. yeah.. a little different than an M6 It was nice, but had to get back into a fast car eventually.

I actually lost to a 2v in my '95 Mustang GT with the 5.0. That car was a dog.

Engine was definitely in the car. It was a convertible so maybe that was the problem. The 5.0 wasn't the greatest in that heavy car.

Of all the cars I've driven, well, besides the Buick, the most fun I've had was in my grandmothers Lexus SC430. Quick little car in stock form! Hit 130 once, not even trying.. I figured it would take a lot longer to get to that speed, but in the upper RPMs that car moved pretty well. Really nice and responsive transmission, and very good in the twisties.

Was the banshee driven by a 700lb rider with pulled timing and a blown piston? I got a friend who had a 11mil (IIRC) stroker that trapped 130 in the 1/4. Chromoly frame, alcohol injection, and an over ride trans (sorta like a dog box) 130lb jockey. Friends are pretty serious with them. When winter comes ive seen dudes put there cars on the line during some crazy grudge matches.

My '98 did a 9.3 with just dumped cat-back exhaust in the middle of summer, first time at the track.

From this weekend. Those drag radials helped me out a bunch! I'm gonna do some weight reduction and I might see that 12 second timeslip I've been waiting for.
