$700 for cams and heads. I know a guy who says he'll install cams for $500

They do sound good with cams. But yea the cost of the supercharger drives me away. Even with a supercharger they are not out of bolt-on ls1 times because their bottom end will give up.
That car looks good. It's got alot of **** done to run a 11.7 though. Some day I would like to do a Mach. They just cost so much. It's not always about how fast it goes.....just about tinking for me mostly. But it is nice to see a reward for the risk.

 

They are definitely great sounding cars with cams. On my car inparticular, the cam work would cost about $2000. The cams alone for my car depending on which ones are $1200-1300 + labor to install. But they pick up a huge amount of power from what I hear. They are not something I would do as a seperate mod.. but definitely will be doing what I build the bottom end on my car in preparation for the twin turbo setup(getting away from supercharged).

To me, usually when people put cams in the modular motors they sound like old trucks.

Holy crap..I have not been on HPJ for about a week so I did not even see that. That is not a bad price for all the stuff that is on that MACH and the weight on the car is crazy low. Nice find.
