I think it would come down to the drivers etc.. weight would be a factor too. My 558rwhp 500, I personally believe could take the Boss, being it should easily be a mid 120's trapping car... but we will never know as I am too far away. And... well... I got this goodie waiting to go on too.. so pulley/tune is out the window. ....

 

My thought exactly... leaving the 1/8th mile track one day(same day I got my damned speeding ticket ), I rolled with a newer 5.0.. bolt on's.. was running decent at the track.. I about pulled his front bumper off... so I guess it depends on the cars, or drivers...

Again I'll offer this hypothetical. Swap the engines from the latest ZO6 with the latest GT500, and the Vette will still win. Weight, height, and aerodynamics are a huge advantage for the Vette. The Ford GT proves my point.

 

Keep reading the brochures.... GT500 has trapped 129 Stock... has also went 11.4 at 126 in the hands of magazine drivers. And in the stock for stock street races... the GT500 is on top.

 

Dude, Z06 have gone 10.981 @ 128.90 ....if you wanna play games(Stock engine, stock Good Year runcraps which are the worst tires in universe lol)

Im referring to '13 GT500 and not 2007 GT500 i ran. It appeared to me you wanted facts and not magazine numbers so i just provided what some of CF.com members have done and done it back in 2006.

 

Thats exactly what im talking about... a 2013 GT500 vs c6 z06 both bone stock. On the roll... the 13 GT500 has shown to be the faster car. Videos have been posted on here as well... this shouldnt be news to anyone.

 

um yea it is. its only because the 13 GT500 the tires that ford uses they are complete **** all they do is spin you cant get good traction out of them at any drag strip you go to. plus they are too skinny as well maybe if they had the exact same kinda tires as the Zr1 or the Z06 with the Z07 package did im sure it would be a different story. A Stock Z06 is faster than a Gt500 and when i mean stock i mean factory tires all the way to the factory tune.

 

we can fight and bicker all day long. but the one thing we all KNOW and will continue to know forever is this. Chevy>ford. camaro/vette>mustang. end of story.

 

Nothing is worse than what Chevy put on 2006-2009 Z06s, a f'in Good Year runcrap tire is by far worst tire in modern era lol

And go by what is happening on the streets. Few here ran stock vs stock and admitted the GT500 was a little faster. We don't race magazine articles cause if that the case they have taken the GT500 to 11.4@126. And several magazines have had the Z06 trap 123. Plenty guys have now went `128-129 stock an ran low 11's and 10.5-10.8 with just tires.

 

Buddy icked up 100whp with doing that blower swap over stock 12 blower along with a tune and 2.5 pulley. Said best 1800 he spent on it. He did trade it in though and bought a 13 last week.
