Just the facts brother.
zl1's have gone 11.7's, more than once, with average joes driving. and the 13 gt500 is a good one lap wonder, then the brakes basically just catch on fire.

Livernois is a great shop but your going to pay for it. They wanted to charge me over 20k to do a built short block, gears and LT's on my 5.0. They then added meth to the quote saying I would need it. Which you don't. Labor its self was almost 10k. I have a buddy that has spent over 30k with them with his 5.0 that runs 10.0's. He feels ripped off for sure. He has since pulled the whipple off they sold him and is in the middle of installing a JPC single turbo.

Every other shop had me at under 12k to do short block/LT's/Gears. Plus retune.

LOL......excuse much.......sucka!!!!!!!!

So now your heavyness is the point of sobbing. You do realize that with 200 more hp your car should go much faster than the 600~ difference says . You should be a 1.5 sec faster. But just like the rest of dyno queen furds......It under performs for the power.

Now come on Mike......you know that what you see and experiences you have don't matter.........according to Icantrun11's

That's all I'm saying. For the ragging the ZL gets furd sure did produce some junk leading up to it.

Yea I was saying the ford gt to. Very unimpressive performance for that car.

Evan Smith testing for fast fords mag.......the mag where furds magically go a 1/2 sec faster than the times you guys can produce.

All that shows is that someone has more money than ability to work on the car is all that proves. Bring me one.....m6 car please.

I was providing info, not starting an argument. Facts are facts, and using a single brake fade experience as an excuse to knock the car is...kinda ridiculous. It's certainly not going to have any more of an issue getting around a track without brakes than the ZL will without steering...nothing is perfect.

So, you were actually saying that a ZL1 is a better performer than a Ford GT...wow. Also, you were the one that referenced magazine results...just following your guidelines bud.

Other shops can be even more spendy by other owner reports.

I'd love to see you run a bone stock, M6, 2012-2014 ZL1 with the tire of your choice, at the track of your choice for 1 entire day.

I'd bet a good chunk of change that you couldn't hit 10s with it.

Ever heard of an isolated incident? If not, I suppose that means that ALL ZL1 owners can anticipate steering failures?

is the steering pn a zl1 a poorly engineered design flaw like the gt500's brakes?

I remember when evan was running 12's with the ls1, and the best he could muster with a 2v bullit was a 13.9. he was basically like "wtf ford, little help here!"

Not in my eyes. I don't think either vehicle is poorly engineered. My point was that saying all GT500s have shitty brakes because of one test on one day with one car is very closed minded and foolish. Just an opinion though.

Whats real funny is that motor trend and alike car magazines have gotten the Ford GT to run fully stock 11.3 1/4 just imagine what some of the people in this site alone could run.....

it's not foolish at all. they're not cooled properly. they're inadequate for the speeds the gt500 can pull.

not that it matters. NOBODY buys a gt500 to be a road course dominator. they're meant to be a straight line beast.

I agree, discussing the brakes DOESN'T matter, but then, I'm not the one who brought them up...

...but according to Hio, "The only way a ford gt would outrun a ZL is in looks.....probably won of the best looking cars ever. Acceleration is comparable and the ZL flat smokes it in the handling department." I don't even know where to begin here...
