C5 z06 vs 5.0s

Btw, here's my timeslip for comparison sake. This was with the boss intake... Like I said wasn't able to shift that quick at 7800rpm and could only wind out 1st gear to 6800rpm which I think hurt my mph a decent amount. Run was in + 1600' DA

OMG what a laugh
I have hit 116-117MPH traps in a STOCK post 01 Z06 many times in different cars. I have seen them hit low 120s with stock internals and full weight. A bolt on 5.0 at full weight should lose to a bolt on Z. If not something is wrong with car or driver.
Guy down the street has one with full exhaust,tune,373s and a clutch. Anyone 5.0s wanna play?? Outside of Baltimore.

That was stock intake. I raced the Z with a boss intake. At the track I ran 11.89 @ 117.60. But I was getting locked out of 2nd above 6800 (shifted at 7800rpm other gears) and couldn't shift as fast. A clutch alone should be good for high 118, low 119. But, obviously I can't be 100% sure.

There's a select few that "hype" it up to the extreme, but it does deserve a lot of credit. H/C C5Z's would eat a bolt on 5.0's lunch, and I love the new 5.0, I think it does everything it's supposed to do, but let's not get carried away. H/C C5Z's are no joke, to me at least.

"A proper set up H/C/I c5z with a decent driver wouldn't have any problem taking down full bolt on 5.0's."
I was speaking of a H/C/I c5z vs. full bolt on 5.0s. (Not a "bolt on" 5.0 that runs mid 11's in 1/4) Thats all I meant by it. But I can see where I may have been misleading.

Still not seeing it. sw07gt was saying that his buddy's cam only C5Z would have no problem taking down a bolt-on 5.0, so a H/C car would be no contest. Are you seeing conflict where there is none?

There is enough 5.0 nutswinging. Do much so, that I bet people are thinking they'll lose on the streets to 5.0 trucks.

and for comparison purposes to Brian. Heres a slip with a very similar 60 ft. And both cars are ran at NED. I expect to gain 2-3mph in the 8th from dialing in the first 100 or so ft with a few little adjustments on the side... and be up a solid 2mph in the 1/4. This pass is literally letting the clutch out from idle, horrible bog, then climb my way up and out back into its powerband. Totally wasting the first 100ft.
26.5" stiffwall ET Drags (20lbs lighter then my nittos as a pair)
3.73s (to help cross the traps in a stronger part of the power band)
Cobra Carrier (dropped 8lbs over torsen)
BMR Chromoly Panhard (i had an aluminium one, lots of deflection)
Poly upper control arm bushing on the diff side (stock wasnt even complete rubber, insane amount of deflection)
Those adjustments alone, i think she will work in the first 100ft properly. Rear end is SOLID now.
