How long do you want it to last? You can spray the **** out of it and make that number.

$1400 to pick up another 50whp NA on a motor that already makes H/C ls1 power with bolt ons.

Thats my point.
Why not wait and compare the 5.0 to the new LT1?

Both those statements arent even close to my topic or point. Im talking about NA AND simply comparing $ for $ as to why 1400 is not a lot of money for the gains you would get considering the power the platform already makes.

You know how many NA setups out there with people who would spend 10k$ to get 50whp? $1400 is nothing.

What's your point? That you're trying to compare a third generation engine to the newest engine and show the power gains?

And while you're at it, why not make your point even more irrelevant by trying to talk about maxed out NA builds and how much money they'd spend to pick up an additional 50rwhp, versus a bolt-on engine picking up more power by swapping the stock cams for new cams.
I could point out that I could pick up 50rwhp in a ls1 by swapping in a different cam for a couple hundred dollars. That's way cheaper than $1,400 for the 5.0.

So what's your point? Why don't you compare the coyote to the old lt1, just for ***** and giggles. Lol

You just told me what your point was: that $1,400 for 50rwhp wasn't bad.
No?

In all fairness your engine has 100hp more than the ls1 from the start but it shouldnt cost but 5 to 7 grand to get that out of a 346. Up the compression, huge cam with the heads to match, 1 7/8 headers and a 102 intake plus 60lb injectors i guess. It would have to be a very radically built motor to get 530whp out of an ls1 and im sure i probably left some stuff out

my point is 1400$ for 50whp in an NA application that ALREADY makes H/C ls1 power is cheap. Why is that confusing? Would you prefer I say cammed ls3? And please dont twist this into another tangent about cammed ls3s making more power by referrancing random youtube videos. Ive had dozens of them dynoed on my dyno with comparable mods + a cam and they have all made very similar power. With me making more power then quite a few of them. And I still have a bit more power left in tuning the cams.

VERY radical. So radical... you would be spending more then 7k.. My buddies 403ci has every part imaginable (ewp, vacuum pump, punched out fast 102, ported big heads, 24X/25X cam, big headers, dual 3" exhaust, etc etc) and made 560whp. No other LSX has come close.

The highest "bolt on" LS car was a c6 z with ported intake, TB, air intake, ARH longtubes, full exhaust, light clutch assembly, maxed out tune, and a pulley. Made 495whp. On youtube... it should have made around 515-520. The reason why i say "maxed out tune" is because they tried to get 500whp out of it just so the customer could have that dyno sheet... and it just wouldnt do it.

Again, this is not me directly comparing my motor to an ls1. It is simply of way for me to say that in the NA realm, when your car already makes the power of a H/C ls1 (using that just to referance an imaginary number in your head), that $1400 for another 50whp in NA work.... is cheap!

Problem with his car is its heavy. His motor is killer though. He needs to buy a c5z. Swap the ls6 into the camaro and the 403 into the Z. Then he would have a high 130 trap car

Just yesterday they finished a cam/intake swap on an ls2 gto.

Kooks 1 7/8s, high flow cats, corsa catback, AI 23X/23X cam, ud pulley, AI ported fast 102/102, air intake, clutch, dyno tune.

What should that make on youtube?

Again, there you go comparing a brand new engine to a 10+ year old engine. Let us be more fair and compare the ls1 to the 2v 4.6l. How much money does it take to make a 2v equal stock ls1 levels?

Why aren't you going to be more relevant and compare it to the ls3 or lt1? Because that makes sense?
Stock ls3 make around 390-400rwhp in a m6 corvette application. They make around 415-420rwhp with bolt-ons. And all this without variable valve timing and being around since 2008.

So be logical and compare it to the new LT1, instead of trying to brag about it compared to the 10year old engine. Hell, the ls3 makes almost the same power, stock, as a cammed ls1.

Cliffs: brb, let's compare engines that are a decade apart, to make my brand new one seem more impressive. Lol

Can you read? Or do you live to troll? And my motor was produced in 2012. That would be comparable to an ls3...

And an air intake/catback/tune ls3 m6 vette made 397whp on MY dyno.

Why even wait... The Corvette is here. That's where it ends up anyway...

This whole "argument" is pointless, at very best. If the Mustang engine edges out the Camaro engine, some stroked version or one that was always a Corvette engine is compared anyway. It gets even worse, as we've seen for many years already, if the Mustang happens to be the outright better performer, even the magazines simply do a comparison directly against the Corvette, as if they're in the same class.

Its not even an argument...Its just someone looking to start one for no reason

Im standing by my original statement. $1400 is cheap to gain another 50whp on an NA application when you already make upper 400swhp.

DONE end of discussion.

I don't even know why you try man. Same with me wanting to do custom grinds. Yea it cost 3x as much as a lower pulley but less boost and more power = win in my book.
