Agreed with DD here. But truthfully, haven't heard of that many LT1s dropping valves. MD may just have been unlucky?

Edit: GM has replaced all stock LT motor failures under warranty as well. I'm certain any manufacturer would find a way to deny warranty in MD's case.

So one guy drops a valve and that means they all do. I know 5 GT500s new that needed engine harnesses replaced under warranty. Does that mean they all do?

We have high mileage LT1s here at work. They are beaten up-no dropped valves. LS7 now on other hand ...eeeck

No one said they all do, keep your pecker in your pants man.

It's just a potential problem.

Kinda like shoddy engineering from furd when gt100 breaks the snout off the crank? Or that shodily engineered gt350 knocking it's *** off? How bout the 5br0 that fl8 blew up....was it shoddy? The termi motor controversy. ...shoddyness? I means **** 70 of those blew up before they shut the thread down.

You said engines were getting more complicated than need be, but then say the LT1 would do better with boost if it had another set of injectors. Just struck me as funny.

You so funny.

Crank snout issue is due to an after market balancer issue, nothing to do with Ford.

Just like my CTSV buddy just cracked the crank snout on his LSX 427 with a Callies + ATI balancer. Ooops right?

I'd venture to say even if ford added the a10 , bumped the hp to 450 and gm kept the camaro exactly the same it would still be faster.

im really not sure what ford can do. Especially if gm adds any more power. Just as it sits currently they have to make the GT as fast as the 350 to even catch the SS. And it has 526 hp.

Maybe ford will need to go back to pushrods ?

Kind of a troll post but I was kind of serious also... I do not think just the a10 would get it done that's for sure. Even if the camaro keeps the a8. A10 and a 15 hp bump would make it interesting but I'd still guess the camaro would be a bit quicker. IMO

I can assure you Ford is not going to just "match" the current hp on the LT1.

If they can get it to 470 or so I'll be worried. They were happy with just coming close to the ls3 last gen and still makes the same hp as an npp ls3 vette. They also have a cheaper price point to wrangle with. Ford would not be wise to raise the price to camaro levels looking at the sales between them.

Think they can do that with 5.0 while still meeting regulations and mpg etc? Aren't some thinking a 5.2 cross plane? That be cool

I wonder what GM has in store for the new vette ? Will likely put the updated GT right back in its place when it goes into the camaro.

My guess is one year running very similar to the 6g then right back to where it belongs
