I figured this thread would be a good read after that announcement last night. Glad to see it picked up in here and wasn’t the same old tired conversation.
I love everything but the rear end look, that will grow on me I’m sure but damn I miss the c5/c6 rear.
I’m leaning toward low 11 myself but that 0-60 has me wondering
peeps can get crazy times on the east coast in winter as well. So a ten second pass may happen
that’s what I was thinking unless the weight was understated. The Z51 package may end up sub 3 to 60 but it also might add several hundred pounds on. Will be interesting to see what happens.
I’ve never recorded it dead hook at the track. An abysmal 0-60 on the street with a bog and traction control got me 3.5. And I only tried it once. I’m guessing at the track it’s got to be in the high 2 second range. The 3.5 i pulled felt like garbage compared to a dead hook lol. I was honestly surprised it was even 3.5
0-60 in under 3 seconds on the street will be nothing to laugh at. Super impressed

I can’t get the weight nailed down from my research. It’s anywhere from 3300 to 3600. If it’s closer to 3300 it’s really gonna be killer. But even at 3600 it will still be formidable imo
That would be 666whp then a super light clutch - 10whp?
676rwhp
Wonder if you could find another 24whp? I had a ported MSD/NW 102 already
I'd love to have another one with 700whp N/A
*** My 636rwhp was with a Vararam as well - Halltech dynos higher but RPM picked up 1-2 mph with a Vararam on testing but dynoed lower. So mild clutch slip and Vararam it dyned 636.
Let me know your thoughts please. Where could you find 25whp? EWP plus.....?
With 3100lb car just becomes a handful all the time trying to have fun on the street but yes 700whp N/A would be incredible with a manual
Sbe h/c ls7 has made 700whp.

I am surprised that the redline is still 6600 compared to the 7000 rpm range
question is will this intake bolt up to a lt1? A ported lt2 intake could end up being the best all around intake for the lt1. And may still fit under a stock hood...
They raised the rpm of the rating. So rev limiter would almost have to be raised.

It will have better traction and weight transfer as well as power delivery with transmission
Gonna be cool to see one ride out with the front wheels in the air.

Whats the best stock tire c6z? 11.0? Maybe 10.9 iirc
C8 gonna go 10.5 I'm telling ya. Some things are more important than power.

Be cool if you are right but I disagree ! ~10.9... in great air
rpm is at 6600 now. It was 6500 before I think . It probably has head and cam changes as well to get an extra 35 hp with relatively same rpm. Compression is the same
the wife just gave to OK to buying one, so it's looking good. working a extra few years is a good price to pay to have a mid engine supercar.
How old are you anyway? Coming from somebody who owns a Kia Optima as a daily, your Hyundai comment about the older Corvettes is a little off the wall. Nowhere near comparable.
Me, meanwhile, am happy the C8 is out and am hoping it does really well and drives down C6 and C7s to poverty prices.
I'm at my 10 year I bet, but my dumbass forgot my password (new computer) and forgot my old e-mail password for that e-mail and my backup e-mail linked to that e-mail is a now defunct college e-mail that no longer exists... yay!

I doubt the claim 0-60 of sub 3 seconds is on the street. Pretty sure most of the testing is done on a private track of some sort. Also that is the Z51 package. The actual base Stingray will probably be 3.2 and some where in the mid 3's for the average driver on a back road. Impressive none the less.
Probably has a 40/60 weight split......it's gonna have great traction.

Poppa turned when prays lbo 93 octane 6g was edging his FBO E85 converter s550. He can say what he wants but that when it started
i believe 11.2-3@121 was poppas best pass in nanner
Nah mang.. nothing in particular made me switch to the Grand Sport from Nanner. Love the 5.0s.. still do. I initially did not like the C7s but ended up falling in love with the GS/Z06 widebodies. Nanner was couple years old and at 42k miles.and I was at the point of boosting and becoming less reliable or moving on.. I decided to go with the Grand Sport. Can honestly say Pray has taught me a shitload on the platform and we have all progressed through much testing/tweaking etc. Maybe my OCD'ness for datalogging and details helped some of the the cause too. LT platform is doing very well NA right now. Biggest holdback is obviously needing dual Port/DI fueling.
Nanner went a best of 11.27@121.5 with boltons. E85 did not help MY car much as I stated before. Others have gained a little more but mine was tweaked to death and the 93 side was already hot. Gained 6rwhp same day same dyno showing up on 93 octane and 1/8th tank. did the pulls and drove 25miles to the nearest e85 station and filled up tank drove back to dyno. Both 93 and E85 pulls were hot. 6rwhp. So at the track, i may have gotten a tenth or 1.5 tenths at the MOST from it. Probably closer to a tenth over 93. Just never got the hard data because I wasn't driving 2hrs to the 1/4 track and wasting runs on 93 octane. 28mph backhalf in dat bitch doe
On another note.. the C8 Vette is pure sex...and that is only the base model Stingray. I anticipate the GS/Z06 variants will be unreal awesomesauceness. I am having a hard time right now deciding if I want to get a base Stingray and trade again when GS/Z06 come out.. or just wait a year or so for them to work bugs out and dealers get out of their greedy adm mode(I refuse to even pay msrp for a car, let alone additional markup)
Poppa 5br0 was one of the best running 5br0s in the country back then.
Why.. thanky Duggy <blush>

The early S550 low 13s high 12s. The new S550 high to mid 12s with a slightly higher trap than a 6th gen. Oddly I have not seen a new 6th gen run so I do not know if the new auto is any faster. From what I have read it is not.
One of the things I was proud of on Nanner is I refused to gut it. It had full interior and ran the 11.2 @ 3820lbs raceweight.

Should be down to around 3450 RW in race trim with my kirkey and dumped exhaust. Too bad Im 250 myself. I need to find a 150 jockey lol. Other than that I’m done with WR aside from possibly pre tinted rear lexan. Car still has ac radio etc perfectly fine daily when in street trim. No regrets
You see around 200-300 MAF hz difference. Flow is powah. Andrew saw a good bit of maf flow increase with the OTR on his cam only setup.
