On a side note I've been tired of black plastic intakes. So i figured i would make a faux aluminum intake
My engine is pretty much done also. Waiting on pushrods and trying to figure out if i want to run it on the engine dyno.
Looks great, that is a homely intake in general but removing the letters (takes a good bit of work) and painting they clean up well. It took a week for me to port, sand outside and paint myself, in free time.
I concur. Put it on a dinojet with SAE correction.
Mustang dino is all over the place.
one quick thing man......i have personally seen and advised on toon for turbo cars that pinged(detonation) on teh track, and were baffled by it.
i am NOT a dyno toon guy for my personal terbo, and i do not advise serious power guys to use a dyno for tooning.
the advantage of a eddie current loaded dyno is not it's numbers, but rather the loading the usually exceeds the full traction loading a car will see, and thereby avoiding engine destroying detonation.
there is this fellow on the CORRAL about in 2005-2007. he popped several motors at the track AFTER a great tooner tuned it on a dynojet.
if you dyno your 1000-1200 rwhp turbo on a light wheel dynojet, the loading and VE tables will be invalid at the track or street with full traction and loading exceeding
LOADPER and having 25 degrees spark at 25psi. boom on the wrong gas.
so forget numbers from a eddie current loaded dyno, BUT for tooning it's invaluable for a fellow who doesnt toon his own car.
Lane Culver who tunes the cars on the TV program STREET OUTLAWS does it on his dynocom dyno here in Lacey's Spring Alabama.
the PREEMINENT LS CHEVROLET TURBO AND TUNING ENGINE BUILDER lives in Lacey's Spring Alabama lol.
i visit his shop all the time.
He builds 2400hp single turbo LS chevrolet from scratch to 250 mph 1/2 miles. just saying
everyone NEEDS to stop by Lacey's Spring Alabama and see real big money cars.
you would not believe Huntsville Alabama is the MECCA of Ls power. there are cars from 1000rwhp to 2500rwhp driving on the streets here. oh and beyond that. he builds there every DAY.

When he beats Dave Adkins in a race, then he can claim that title sir.
The amount of power that relatively small displacement cars are making currently is just insane. Never thought we'd see 1500+hp 2.0L 4 cylinders.
1000+ 4cyl has been around for atleast 40yrs in road racing. But really they're not just 4 cyl. They have a turbine attached to them forcing them from 200ish hp to whatever above that.

Meh....waiting till it gets in the "hands of the people" like the feather duster crew sats.
Bmws....they had a gtp car that up to a rumored 1200hp and a 320i turbo race car that was likely in the 800hp range. We dyno'd one to 600+ for a car we restored. Of course that was staying conservative for reliability.
The gtp car had a unique throttle body set up. It would be wot on the engine very quickly and have another tb on the turbo to basically throttle the turbo to drive.
No doubt the dan gurney eagle gtp toyotas of the early 90s had big power 4cyl also....and probably others i don't know about.
Small displacement engines running huge turbos is nothing new. Nothing very good either. Usually the tq curves are **** till the turbo spools then it's a on off switch. Newer ones with anti lag and even electric motor help are no doubt better and e85 was the savior of boosted 4cyl getting much past 450whp for street use.
Meh, my boosted 4 cylinders were a blast. Lots of friends with high hp 4 cylinders as well. Ive always been amazed. Im still kicking myself for selling my Evo.
Evan is a monster.. ran 12s in 2 different bone stock 4th gen Fbody cars back in the day. I am not surprised to see him stilling setting benchmarks/records.
