Stock for stock 305>30p00. Way better average power.

That's the sexiest looking motor ever. Be a great truck engine and you can convert them to a 0411 ecu.

But the real problem was that there was 3 305s offered in fcars. A tbi , a carb'd version and the tpi and all could be had in z28/iroc models. In 85 the 305 tpi was stout with the auto.....my dad has a 85 iroc. It had 215hp with a auto and no 5speed. After that all the auto tpi 305s got a peanut cam and only had 195hp. Pretty much all the 30p00s in mustangs were h.o. except for a few tbi cars. If you even drove a 305 and thought it was a turd drive a tbi 30p00.....you'll wonder if it's a 4cyl.
Other than that i wonder how a 30p00 got a good reputation. They were absolute turds in anything but a mustang. And that was due to the fact that mustangs had a lighter clutch, better gearing and the car could be up to about 500lb lighter......so not neccesarily just about the engine. A 30p00 truck was anemic. While a 305 truck wasn't a barn burner but it had workable power. I had a 305 k5 4x4. I pulled cars and junk with it. It ran good for that era. It would get over 18mpg highway.
They very seldom tested a mustang gt vs a iroc/z28. The gt version of the mustang was slower and the lx and especially the notch.
When was .1 real bad dumbass? How bout you run your 5.4unk on 4.6low tune.....probably run just fine right. Cause hammers 350 was on a 305 tune . On top of that there was a massive difference in weight and da.

2 different tracks are 2 different days and there was a challenge. The only way to make that challenge fair is to correct the times. Other than that it's just personal bests.
But mmmmm went over .5 faster than snail with his tpi car....like 14.3 i think. So lets just throw that one in the mix to. No reason to leave a good running 350 out with a 350 tune.....lol

My first car was a 1991 Z28. 305tpi 700r4 hardtop car. Swapped the rear gears for 3.42's. Free modded the air cleaner assembly (the water baffles inside it choked the **** out of the engine), larger throttle body and throttle body airfoil (west coast corvettes pieces IIRC), 3" catback exhaust, and a transgo shift kit. It ran 9.0 1/8's all day long. If I caught a highway geared auto LS fbody Then it was a damned good race till about 90mph then id get walked. My buddy had a 94 sn95 302ci 5 speed GT. We were always pretty much dead even. The fox bodies were quite a bit lighter and never ran across an even close to stock one.
