If it's an early 392, or a 6 speed it would be real close between the C5 and it, A8 392 should eat it alive. Plus I am just talking about the engine itself, not the car it's in, because we all know the LX cars are seriously overweight. Doing some bench racing, the Camaro is like .2 and 2mph faster than the Challenger, while weighing 600-700lbs less. I liked the **** out of the LT1 in my Camaro, but I like the 392 more.
Also agree a newer 392 auto would smash a stock c5.

Agree comparing both in stock form. The 392 is more optimized from the factory with a larger cam and SD tune. once you start modding equally, the LT1 picks up a lot. Just basic ported heads/cam LT1 builds make 600whp on pump E. 416-427 LTx motors are making 750+whp NA with stock castings on C85. Either way the 392's are pretty stout engines for low compression. They have some really good heads. Nobody really pushes them NA. It seems those that want more power move up to the Hellcat platform because the 392's even with forged pistons and boost don't seem to run as well as Hellcats.

11.2@120 from a CAI only 1320 Scat running almost 4Klbs with driver. That's still heavier than the 6th gen and miles ahead of it on the fast lists. Sorry, the hemi is a better engine, stuck in a fat *** car.

No it's not like that at all. What i did was well documented and backed up. Then we did another car and went faster just as it should have.
But since you say you have a 392 car......go back up his times with his mods.

i did back it up. Car trapped somewhere around 130 about 20 times....maybe more. With a best of 131.3. It likely had 133 or so in it there at the end.
