Default S2000 goes down hard....

Was driving back to work on my lunch break..minding my business...tops off and some music blaring when I pass some fagola driving a S2000 with the top down I didn't think much of it...I pass him..as I pass him he stares at me..no big deal. Well that must've been his signal to race because he dropped gears and attempted to pass me..notice I said he attempted

I floor it and make that poor excuse for a roadster beg for mercy. I think he got a tad bit pissed off when I waved at him out the window

Race was from about 35-90. I waved again when I pulled into my work parking lot...he gave me the finger as he flew by

LOL! I love when some guys get pissed off at me for driving along minding my own bussiness. Then they try to attempt a fly-by and they can't. Great stuff. I know what you mean though. Sometimes you get a look from someone for no reason like you just banged his mom and sent him the video tape of it.

Yeah, looking at your pictures the S2000 looks pretty cool, but then I look at your vette and wonder what the hell I was just thinking

I used to work at a Honda dealer back in '03 and got to drive a few S2000s. I can't believe the red line on those things. Its just starting to pick up a little (notice that I said a little) power at 6000 rpm, lol.

They're decent cars no doubt. One thing I've noticed is people CANNOT drive those damn things! Plus they have ZERO low end.

I recently drove a 2004. The S2000 is a fun car, but it's not a drag car . Almost makes a convertible vette feel big and bulky.
Below 5000 rpm is really sluggish. I was surpurised how hard the car pulls from 6000 - 8000 rpm.

Glad that you reminded him that good ole Detroit iron still rules.

thats why i have both...the s2k is fun to drive around town and beat up on civics and other ricers....if need be then i come home and bring out the big boy....but my z06 gets like 10 miles to the gallon if i'm lucky while the s2000 will get 25mpg....but they are totally different and unless it is very highly s/c or turbo'd, it won't touch a ls1,ls6,ls2,etc..... stock s2k vs stock lt1s are a good match up though

the problem is S2000s are a lot more affordable nowadays, and can be had for about 20k or under. (well '00-'03). to someone driving an RSX or an old Integra, that seems like a good deal. So that leaves you with someone who thinks that because they now have RWD, they can walk LS1s and other V8s.

it just the same ricer mentality in a different platform.

it's too bad too, because i wouldn't trade my S2000 for anything, it's a very tossable, fun car. but i know what cars can be picked on and what cars to let drive on by when i'm in it.

Funny you mention an S2000...

I picked up my T/A wednesday, Saturday I'm headed home after a long afternoon going car shopping with a buddy. At some point on the highway, we notice a nice Suzuka Blue S2000 pas by with the typical 'baLLeR rImZ yO!', nice dual exahust, very clean setup. Now by this time I'd only had the car for all of 3 days and I'd yet to really strech her legs, so I use this opportunity to goad the S2K into a little freeway battle.

Long story short, I guess I terrified the S2K into litterally running away from me. This guy was going full tilt, exahust screaming away, while I'm 60-70% throttle in 5th just trying to get next to the guy, and sadly I'm actually pulling on him at this point. He finally learches accross 4 lanes to another highway entrance and he's gone.. damn, is the front of the WS6 that meanacing?
