Default Banged out a Red LS1 WS6

I was on the Gsp this morning and a red WS6 came cutting in and out of traffic and made me mad so I caught up to him and he laughed and gunned it and I gunned it as well and I pulled 4 car lengths on him up to 110 when I shut down.He was a car length ahead when he gunned it.

I have a 92 Civic with a 2000 B16 motor,Type R cams 9500 rev limit I/E and a FPR.My car weighs 2030lbs and has 190 hp.

What are the specs on an LS1 WS6 and what do they run in the 1/4?
What do they trap at.
Thanks
Dan

The guys who've run 12.7's stock got factory freaks. LS1's with manual transmissions trap a little higher.

BTW, if what you say is true nice kill. You are driving a 190hp go-kart though.

Are you sure it was a WS6 and not a V6 Firebird?

Just because I don't post my mods in my sig doesn't mean my car is stock

It would take a lot more than a 190hp 2000lbs car to take out my TA as it sits.
(unless of course you were making some absolutely SICK torque numbers )

I'm guessing yours is a manual tranny car right? The WS6 you raced was probably a stock auto so you had a better chance at him from a roll.

Just a word of advice for racing LS1 autos...be very, very careful if you run one from a stop. If it's got a decent stall it'll leave hard...real hard. I went 12.6X back when I had a stock motor and just a little 3500 stall and sticky tires.

Most totally stock autos will only run about a 13.4 or so as you guessed.

Your right about the autos,I drove my cousin Chris' Black '98 Corvette Coupe with an SLP Loudmouth exhaust and auto tranny X-Mas eve and it was quick off the line.

My little old lid and catback Z28 runs consistent 13.0's at 106 on a pathetic 2.0 60'. That will be changing in the spring though thanks to a pair of ET Streets and a NX 100 wet shot.

If your civic runs 13.0, that's very respectable. Don't think that it's special though. 13's suck, my car included. Someday you might run into a strong LS1. I'd say more than half of this damned board runs mid 11's to mid 12's.

I know they are fast cars,Ive driven a 99 firehawk that my friend used to have 6speed,With a sick first and second gear. Not to brag or nothing but I caught him while I was in the meat of third gear and REAL Hondas are pretty unstoppable in 3rd gear VTEC.
I only post respectable kills.I killed a new Z but I dont even deem them fast.

What would the MEAT of third gear be in a REAL Honduh, above 8000 RPM?

Very telling about the people here.

To the Civic owner - nice kill. Just make sure you don't run into an LS1 owner like me or some of the others on this board who could put 15-20 lengths on you real quickly. On the other hand, if I were in another car, I sure as heck would not be expecting a 13-sec Civic. I can see how you would creep up on some people. You must eat stock Mustangs for lunch.

I`m not wanting to say BS. You say your car runs 13.0 or so. How are you going to pull 4 car lengths on him. LS1(WS6) like higher rpms, and run close to 13.0 also. He might have thought you where slow and raced you in overdrive, or maybe never downshifted thinking he would beat you easily. Did you race a second time? Might have very well been differant. Don`t want to take your glory from you, just saying the facts. Besides my Auto runs pretty good from a roll Peace

Really, I don't mean to be an *** here, but this comment is just ridiculous.

"REAL Hondas are pretty unstoppable in 3rd gear VTEC."

The VTEC engine is great for getting groceries...not racing. Sink enough money into anything and you can make it reasonably fast. REAL Hondas are designed to have enough room to store 10+ bags of groceries.

My thought is that you're posting this just to get a rise out of us LS1 guys. If I'm wrong, chalk it up to all the I did tonight.
