stock ls1 vs modded lt1
i ran my friends 97 m6 lt1 z28, he has a complete exhuast, a cam, gears, a huge cowl hood and a huge wing and all i have in my 02 is an mt1 air lid, i left school and was driving home when i saw his white z28 i sped up and revved it and then he hit it and let off, then i hit it and let off, then he told me to go, and i hit it on a 30 mph roll, he stayed with me till i shifted and i put about 4 cars on him, then we stopped and he said he liked my rims, he plans to take off the wing and put a double wing on top of his factory wing

And a cowl hood + huge wing IMO =
Good driver kill but that was in no way a good showing of what modded LT1's can do.

i thought he would keep up also, but one thing i do know is that it wasn't tuned, but i won that one thats all that matters, i used to have an lt1, it has modded, it was quick, but after 100,000 miles it all went down hill, i'll ask him to run again if i see him, i'll take pics since i don't have a video camera

im not putting ur car down by any means but i have a 97 z28 with the lt1 and my friend has a 99 z28 with the ls1 and i beat him everytime. mine is an a4 with only a slp dual fitler cold air intake and his is m6 with custom exhaust. everytime we ran i put about 1 car on him from the start and right at about 115 he started to pull very slowly back up on me. ive ran my car to and ive ran a 13.3 so like the other guy said, either the guy didnt know how to drive or the lt1 motor is abotu to die. but still nice kill.

i ran a H/C Lt1 and he beat me the first time and beat him the second...so u puttin 4 cars on him has me wantin to say ...BUT u said u won so i guess all is well.... btw im just a cammed car

call b.s. if you want but i know what happend besides i don't have a reason to b.s., not like i know any of you, and like i said earlier he has a 97 that isn't tuned and has well over 100,000 miles, we hit it on a roll and i pulled and kept on going, and i know he hit it too cause i heard it for one and the *** end dropped but he stayed behind me and who knows he might of let off, but i STILL won in my '02 m6 z28, but i'll race him soon hopefully

well ****........with the wing and the hood those two mods add 50 rwhp right there ... i mean damn i have heard good things about these hoods...also heard something about putting stickers on ur car and possibly adding 10 rwhp..?
But def. run again my buddy has a 97 lt1 with Drag radials, headers, throttle body, and free mods, and he beats (some) ls1's that are even lightly modded

dude that lt1 has to run like crap, 'cause my friend raced him in his 00' mustang gt, the only thing doneto the gt was he cut out the cats, they ran and he stayed at the lt1's door the whole time, he never passed him, and nd i raced the gt last night and i smoked him we ran like 3 times gave him a 2 car lead and i still got him, i guess that dudes lt1 is f@cked up or something

my friend has a lt1 with a cam, gears, cutouts, a few bolt ons and he got walked by a stock ls1 from a roll. so i believe his story except that 4 cars seems a little exsesive.
