they are quick, they could be considered rice with the wrong owner/driver, as could almost any car. I guess nobody had read the sticky here about the benchracing threads cause they just keep popping up. Just go race him and post the results afterward.

"they're heavy and slow. often seen w/ dual fartcans. theyre rice fo sho..."
maybe the 3000gt's, not the vr4's. the vr4's are heavy, but i believe they come with awd and twin turbo's and stock run in the 13's. i see the 3000gt's riced out all the time. however all the vr4's ive seen have been pretty clean. stock for stock the cars are very close in performance, from a dig i give the advantage to the vr4 unless your running some type of tire.

a kid at my school has a 3kgt, not a vr4 though. Hes got massive fart cans, a giant spoiler, huge crappy subs, and a bunch of other crap on it. And according to him, Ill take him from a stop, but after 60 im f-ed (in the fox). Oh yea, his mods are two fart cannons welded on to the stock exhaust, and some stupid big air filter. That right there is a riced 3kgt, however many people have modded vr4s that are left stock in appearance, those are definetly not rice.

I've only ran across a modded VR-4 once. At that time I had a 94 Camaro Z28 w/ a 6psi blower. He thought for sure he'd take me on the launch. Wrong. I took him out of the hole (street tires, stock GSCs I do believe) and had him all the way til.... well above the posted speed limit.
If the car was stock, or a stock LS1... I'd imagine it'd be a close race vs a stock VR-4. Although I'd honestly give the edge to the LS1.

I fixed a 2nd gear friction cone for my buddy and helped him install a good clutch and flywheel and catback. It would g-tech 13.3 with both of us in it, on dusty blacktop. lol
Very fun cars!

They are fine cars. Not really amazing or anything, but they can be damn fast and their motors (6G72) are actually gaining in aftermarket options.

Personally I like the mitsubishi GTO's they are japans answer to the pony cars, I like pony cars, I like the vr4's. I was looking at getting one if I move back to NY and need a winter car.

they can be quick...but from what i heard they get expensive to mod...and don't you have to totaly redo the fuel system to get more then 15-16 psi from the stock turbos? that fact right there keeps most of the non heavly modded vr4's from being very fast
