Default Mach 1 and myself=Driver's race.

Last night a friend and I head out to grab a bite to eat and before heading home I was cruising for a race. After 20 min of driving I come to the conclusion that there was not going to be one. So I take the scenic route home when all of the sudden I hear a rev. I bust a bitch and pull up next to a White Mustang Mach 1 on U.S. 52 in front of white castle who is just waiting for me.

Any way we do a 2nd gear punch and push the accelerator. Engine revs unusually fast and I back off the shifter popped out of 2nd Dude was way the **** in front..

I catch up again we do a 2nd gear pull and I walk him. I get the jump and I stay ahead. We line up a third time and I go to rev match into 2nd and he takes off I floor it and stop his walk at half a car length. I start to reel him in when we catch up to traffic and I had to back off.

I really wanted to go from a dig just for ***** and giggles but the radar detector went off so I busted a left and headed home. All in all its one of the better races I have had around here. Usually its no fun racing anyone becuase they wont race or its some cavalier with CAI and cat back who thinks they are the shiznit.

Machs are pretty nice, most guys just gear the **** out of them and lighten them up a bit, powerwise they are not THAT immpessive, it is more of a mix between gearing weight. Before I bought my SS I thought about getting a mach, but I knew if i wanted it to go as fast as I wanted id have to do it like my other stang ( no spare or jack, no foglights, no rear seat, stupid steep gears that run out at 110mph, lol) With my SS I am still fast with a massive system, subframes, strut bar ect, 11" chrome wheels. Sometimes I feel like ripping all that **** out just to get better ET's but it aint really worth it to me anymore. I guess ill just resort to more power if I wanna go faster.

Never taken it, I think the rear would pop. The 350z I raced in my sig traped 116 at 6psi, he was running 8 the night we raced if that gives you any idea of mph, I hate guessing but id say 11.90's are possible on my zr1's. My car constantly pulls cars with more power than me, the 94 cobra in my sig dynoed 450rwhp, Ill prob get it out one day but I doubt I go all out with the launch.

You should take it to track sometime to find out I doubt your rear will break unless you just dump the clutch on slicks... Racing on the street is alot different from the track..

I have been to the track 100's of times in my stang, just never in the SS. When my Gt was still on the NPI motor I had it doing 13.70's, once I droped the PI motor in I got it to do 13.20's, so I can drive pretty well. I just know once I run it a few times I will try to bust into the 11's, and will most likely bust my rear trying.

Those rears are cheap to build and you can find them everywhere. Just take it sometime and find out what it will do.. I know alot of people who drive there stock rear cammed LS1 to the track and race it with no problems and they are all M6's.. The hp isn't too impressive to you because all you have seen is just bolt on cars.. My car with full exhaust, CAI, and tune put down 325rwhp & 340rwtq on a bone stock motor.. That isn't too bad at all.. Now if you have the money to have the heads ported, cams, and a FR500 intake along with full exhaust, CAI, and tune, they can put down every bit of 450rwhp.. But doing that takes alot of money that most people wouldn't want to spend.. The inake alone cost $3K bucks but it will give you 50+rwhp just by putting it on. The power is there, it is just the money thing that keeps people from building them up N/A..

Thats true for all of the NA 4V ****, thats why I stayed away. I knew if i got one it would be full weight and 320-330rwhp, and that was just not enough for me.

There is always going to be someone faster.. Haven't had too much of a problem with the other guy so far unless he has alot of motor work done..

you have a factory freak. There's not many mach 1s putting up those numbers.

Just like a few of those factory 01-02 ls1s putting down 330hp from the factory. There's not very many but they do exist.

It's nice to be blessed sometimes.

edit: Interesting on a modified mach. I expected only around 400rwhp with that kind of work. Putting down 450rwhp from a 4.6L n/a is impressive. I would like to see a few honestly. It's just hard to fathom.
