Default 99 Cobra vs WS6 vs Trans Am

Well this was about a couple months ago. But I was with my friend in his 99 Cobra and we saw a white I'd say 2000 or 2001 WS6 leaving Monmouth and heading to Galesburg on old highway 34 so we decided to have a little fun. We turned a corner and were right behind him and as soon as we both got straightend out, hammered it. And wow that WS6 took off like a bad out of hell. By the time we hit 140 he was was probably 10 car lenghts ahead of us atleast. Then right after that a friend of ours appeared out of nowhere out in the country in his 96 or 97 Trans Am auto. So we lined 'em up and it turned out to be a really good race. The Cobra had cams and the Trans Am had just CAI I think and we ran about side by side but around 60 or so we started to pull ahead a little in the Cobra. We did about 3 runs with the TA and they all had about the same outcome. So it was a fun day all in all and I really wish I knew who owned that WS6 because that car was bad ***.

yeah, sounds about right, 99 cobra being equal competion to a late model WELL KEPT Lt1 car mod for mod, with the edge too the cobra, while getting stomped by the LS1 mod for mod. good races though. tell ur buddy to trade in the 99 as a down-payment on a 03-04 cobra or atleast a 03-04 mach 1. Atleast with the Mach it would have been more a drivers race.

Hmmm..... you say the Cobra was cammed? I would think that a cammed car could take an LS1 seeing as I have seen bolt on 99/01's run with them. And he should have definitely been able to handle an LT1 with just a CAI. Maybe I misread and if so please correct me.

Nice runs. Maybe that WS6 was H/C?? who knows. One thing is for sure..it wasn't stock. Either that..or you meant 01 lengths, not 10 lengths.

10 lengths = Super fast WS6 or terrible Driver + extra weight in Cobra

Well actually about a week ago when he had to get a new clutch and flywheel put in the Cobra, we found out that it had a miss in the engine that we hadn't noticed before so it got a tune up and he says it's a bit faster than it was before but I dunno I haven't riden in it in a while. Well when we were behind the WS6 he didn't quite go to the redline for some reason but either way he wouldn't have been able to keep up at all. And we know there has to be something done to it because my cousin has a 96 Cobra with intake and exhaust and the 99 beats it by a pretty decent amount every time they say (never seen it myself). But the 96 has some traction problems and the 99 hooks like no other.
