Actually they're 300hp cars that *can* run mid 13s. Fastest time I've seen for one stock is 13.4, compared to 12.70s for the quickest stock LS1 F-body I've seen. But I think that 12.70 might have been a ringer car, so I generally use ~13.2 for an average LS1 time in good conditions, and ~13.7-8 for an 05+ Mustang. So yeah, about half a second apart in the 1/4. But the S197s have a mean new suspension (seen 60' times on stock tires in the sub-1.8s range), which makes them a driver's race with an LS1 from a dig.

He isn't unbeatable, but you sure as hell seem to act like you are. You've already admitted you have never been to a drag strip before and run a car, so why the hell do you think you can beat him? Oh, and drag racing at the track is nothing like racing street light to street light.

LOL. Uncle.

I do find it extremely funny that someone that has never taken a light on a track can whoop us all in reaction time (Mr. Trophy....if you need reaction time explained, let me know).

Oh well. Ya'll have a good day.

I also don't know a damn thing about 99 Cobras but it would be interesting to know how a car with under 350 hp went 11.6 at the track unless you are talking 1/8 mile, which is slow. I have buddies who have run at the track with slightly over 350 horse to the wheels and on slicks that only get into the 12's with a automatic.
i was in the 12's with under 300hp and a stick. you make me laugh

C'mon man, don't you know he's an expert at the track? Just forget the simple fact that he has never ran a car at a dragstrip, its just a minor set back, I'm sure he's done enough internet benchracing to make up for that fact.

Yeah ok, if you want to think that to make yourself feel better about the piece of **** you drive. I've never heard a 4 cylinder that sounded anything like a v8.

I agree with you on the numbers, but I did'nt want to open another can of worms on this post, so I kept it to figures that motor trent would give.

If you look back in the thread, you'll see that I've asked which track he goes to and indicated that I visit several on the East Coast...of course there was no response. I think I even offered to supply a video camera for the "friendly" grudge match...heard nothing but crickets chirping. Of course, he'd strap a light on Bob Cosby...

On the other hand, if you want to race soapbox derby or slot cars he may hand you your ***... and get another trophy in the process

See you in a week.

Bob is an experienced drag racer who's won many races and a factory
stock series as well. You have NEVER been to a track and you have the
***** to question him? Please...

We don't need moronic trolls here.
