Default 2006 Mustang Gt Vs 2001 Ss

So i was drivin around bored and i see a pewter conv. SS sitting at a gas station so i pull in to take a look, and as i pull up beside it i notice it has et streets on it and has a decent sounding cam so i thought this could be fun so i hung around and followed the guy out into the highway, i wasent sure if he would race because the man was prob at least in his 40s but we got up to about 35 and he jumped so i stomped it in 2nd, and the tires busted so i let off and followed him to the stop light and he waves so i gesture to go again and he gave me a thumbs up so we slowly accelerated untill i was in 3rd gear at 50, 3 honks later were gone, we carried it up to 120 and to my suprise i only had him by about a car, or 1.5car. we talked afterwards and he said it was a cam only car with 100 shot. So it was a great race with a very cool older guy. i am not a ls1 expert so i was wondering what a cam only car with 100 shot would make power wise. by the way it was prob a smaller cam because a friend of mine has 232/238 and it dident sound as radical as my friends.

It could have been a 6 liter LSX block w/ a small cam for all you know w/ a 100 shot. I've heard a 408 w/ a 230ish cam and it sounded like a stock cam but then again it also have a big turbo.

I don't know that the OP's car makes much more than a lightly-modded '03 Cobra... and those are SO rare

When I say "lightly modded," I'm talking full bolt-ons, a pulley, and a tune.

Lightly modded cobra should be well over 400rwhp (450ish). So you are saying you're in the 550-600rwhp range?

Cam only could be 370-390 rwhp on the ls1. 228/230 is not really not that small of a cam.

By the way, I love the look of your car. There is a local one just like it. The Guy has a Stage 10 badge on the back. It's supercharged, not sure if Vortec or Procharger. I don't remember. But seriously nice looking car.

thank you, and no i would like that power but for the moment im still on stock internals so im only runnin a measly 8 psi and im closer to 500rwhp, i hope to eventually change the shortblock, bump the boost up to about 18 psi and should make 650-700rwhp, you could def hear his SS sprayin it was so loud and that was with it behind me

Nice kill and nice car! Be carefull running 500 hp with those stock internals. A friend of mine has an 05 gt with a vortec and had a piston fail at 466 rwhp. I had one of the stock valves bend in mine with just 400 rwhp.

ya i have a buddy makin 580 on stock internals but thats incredibly risky its a once a month driven car tho, i fell 500 is safe on my car just because of the minimal amount of boost its takin and it has a awesome tune, and i also baby my car a rarely drive it hard, i just happened to be in one of those moods to have a little fun, piston failure at 466 on a 3v stang is somewhat rare unless he beats the **** out of it or dident have a safe tune

Nice Mustang.

How are the new 3V's for holdin boost?
What can a stock internal one handle? 8 psi? 10 psi?
I like the S/C Saleens with 425bhp, very nice lookin cars.

They got the same 4.6 as you?
Any difference/'s?
