Yo. Went out to suprise the woman with a late night visit when she got outta work,...around 1 am. When I left her for the night,...around 1:45ish....I was on the highway, cruising at about 90ish....and I spotted some mustang taillights. As I got closer, I got a boner, cause I noticed large stripes, as I got closer, I was positive it was a RED with white strip shelby GT 500.

I pulled along side of the car, left side, my windows were down, the 500's windows were not. They had dark tint. Couldn't tell you anything about the driver, or if he or she had passengers...whatever.

I try and get them to go, by jumping on and off the throttle a couple of times... mustang didn't flinch. I tried again, a few times,...didn't pay me any attention. Nothing. I was dissapointed, and figured it was just some old dude in the car...and didn't want any. So, I was done trying him,...I start to slowly pull away.

I go to the left lane, passing a car that was in the middle. I am watcing my mirrors,...and I noticed, the gt500 went around the car to the right lane. Then, I noticed, that the dude started to FLLLLLLLY by the car that he was passing,....as if he was trying to do a FLYBY on me or something.

I wasn't having that.

I downshifted to third gear, I was doing about 70ish, and went WOT before he passed me,...i'd say he was about 10 feet off my bumper when I hammered it.

He didn't catch me,...I quick shifted 4th,....and stopped his pull,....and started to gradually pull away from him....which told me that the car was pretty fast(mustang)....then at the top of 4th gear, I had gained about 2 cars on him, hit 5th gear...and as soon as I engaged the gear and started to pull, we got to a top of a hill, and there was FHP sitting on the right with there rollers on(highway patrol with lights on).... I lifted, braked, as quiet as possible....still had plenty of time since they were a 1/4 mile in front of us.

The mustang bugged out, slowed down to like 45mph or something, in a 60-70mph zone. Then he dived off the highway on the off ramp.

Anyways, I crusied by the law, and that was that.

The only visible mods that I saw on the GT 500 where HOOD PINS.

No big deal....but I think the cobra was suprised.

Sure it was a GT500? I DO know that the new GT500KR's have hood pins from the factory! Sure it wasn't a KR?

Thats what I was going to say. As much power as you are making Jamie you should have put more then 2 cars on a standard GT 500. It might have been the KR which makes 40+ HP more then the standard gt 500.

Good kill! Who nows what the story could have been on that car. The momentum he had on his attempted fly-by had to have given him some sort of advantage. I realize that there are always different circumstances that people have, but I always like to at least roll my window down and ask about the other guys car and tell them what I basically have. Oh well, the GT500 guy could have been in a hurry...

Not to hijack.... but whats the deal... there are gt500's now and there are also Shelby GT's? Are some of them not 500's? Like a GT 350 or something? Just curious, Ive seen a few of those around town but I dont think they are 500's....

 

I dunno man....I just know it was a 500, and it had hood pins. Plus, it was like 1:45am,..I was tired...

It seemed pretty fast.

 

He had quite a rolling start on me dawg,..he was coming pretty quick up on my tail,....I saw that, mashed it, stopped his pull...started to pull away nicely.

It's pretty hard to stop a cars pull when it has a fast run on you like that....to pull away, is even tougher.

 

1. Vista Blue/White stripes
2. Alloy Metallic/silver stripes
3. Performance White/Blue stripes

I've seen too many red ones (they have the availble charcoal/red combo interior which is nice) and not sure I like the grabber orange even if it is somewhat rare.
