Like I said... it doesn't matter what you believe. I didn't say it was common or expected, but it is possible.

I agree its possible. You only need 105-106mph for a 12 sec pass (w/ a decent 60ft of course). A bolt-on GT can get that mph and ET. Only radials? Probably not but DR's? Yes. Remember, its not only about rwhp. Gearing has a big affect on it. -Mark

NO way this guy was even close to 12's. High 13's best, even that seems out of reach for as slow as this car was. I've beaten another GT with atleast exhaust by even more than this guy, so I don't think he had a bad running car.

DRIVE MOD doesn't mean **** from 50mph roll BTW.

Maybe if the car was set-up for drag on slicks MAYBE i would believe it, even then its a bit far-fetched.
Kyle....I am surprised...I usually completely agree with you...are you drinking again. LOL.....honestly though...racing a modded Gt from a 50 roll (especially with 4.10s) is hardly the way to judge ETs.....As Mark states above.

270 horse with drag radials and 4:10's will get a 2v gt in the 12's without weight reduction. you must have just sucked at driving your gt.

you have been spending a little too much time on LS1tech.....why dont you go cruise some of the stang forums and see what it really takes for the 2V's to get in the 12's...you could even look at some of the links I posted above and see what it took them to get into the 12's...have you ever even owned a 2V?? or are you just making **** up? I see three 4V 4.6's in your sig and a 289.....you can call me a poor driver all you want but the fact is you have no idea how I drive.....2V 4.6 motors are junk and it takes more money than its worth to get them to go fast NA

But also about 270-280lb/ft of torque, which is not "weak." They might not be (stock vs. stock) in the same league as the LS1, but still not "slow." I enjoy my car (though I'd rather have an LS1), and I think it's pretty pitiful how you can call something a piece of ****, or "slow," just because you happen to be faster.
my car is fast but its not that fast. in comparison his bone stock 98z would have monkey stomped the living **** out of his stang, not only that but any retard can jump in an auto mustang and drive the **** out of and do it well, for one it has virtually zero power, so spining the tires is out the window unless you are doing a brake stand but whoopty doo any moron can do that. and yes 99-04 gts are slow. if you dont like it quite trolling the street racing/kill section here and go troll a mustang forum.

I dont really care where your from. im not claiming the 99-04 gt's to be rocket ships. im just saying bolt ons and 12's in a 2 valve is possible. and im not gonna go looking all over the internet to find one to make you happy or shut you up. i went 13.9 @ 99 with a 2.23 60 ft last year with a cai and a catback. thats non geared with a terrible 60 foot and a lot of bolt ons left to do. and by the way it was with a horrible DA. Ill be back up there next month with full bolt ons, gears, tune and a 100 shot with drag radials and ill be glad to report back my numbers.

ok so after you are done trying to prove 01formula wrong (even though he is showing a number of examples of heavily modified gt's barely breaking into the 12's), why dont you just find us some examples of bolt on (I/H/E), geared GTs that hit 12's. I know that not all of the drivers 01formula mentioned were bad drivers...he is just showing the limitations of the 4.6 2v without big power adders.

Did you NOT see the link I posted of the guy with intake/H-pipe/exhaust/gears that did 13.2? And that was with a 2.0 60' time. I'm not saying that 2Vs are the best motors... just that it is possible to get in the 12s with bolt-ons and gears.

And you know this how? I can show you THOUSANDS of people that have a few grand thrown into their LS1s and can't break into the 12s. And then I can show you a select few that have done it either stock, or with only one or two small mods. I've seen quite a few things that people (most of whom aren't exactly experts) have told me are impossible.

Um... there are even tons of people on this site that have ALOT of stuff done to their cars and aren't in the 12s. For whatever reason. Everytime I go to the dragstrip I see LS1 F-bodies with alot of mods in the 13s, and '03-04 Cobras in the 13s, and turbocharged Hondas that run 13s and trap 115mph. Does that mean they can't go any faster?

no i did...that is 1 example...AND ITS NOT IN THE 12'S. Close..but no cigar. Now 01formula...he showed several examples. You..you come up with 1, and its a low 13. And i can tell you right now...there are HUNDREDS of true "bolt on" ls1 powered cars on this website that run 12's. Im not talking 13.0001. Im talking 12.xx. Yes, there are some members here that may not be the best driver, or may not run at a greatly prepped track, but there are average, and good drivers on this website with stock ls1's running bolt on gt times, and bolt on ls1 running true 12 second passes.

The example I gave is also on regular radials, with only intake/exhaust. And he's only 2 tenths of a second away from 12s. So again, I ask you if you really think he can't make up 2 tenths with more bolt-ons and drag radials?
