Default Me vs Turbo sc300

So im driving around last night and come across a bunch of kids hangning out infront of McDonalds. So i go over to take a look and when i pull up i imediatly see a gigantic intercooler hanging in the sc300s grill and ask if he wants to go for a little fun run. He complains that his car is compleatly stock and blah blah the bullshit people try to give to make themselves sound like they arent going to stomp you and want to hustle you. After we talk a bit and he still wont tell me what hes done we go out for a run. We line up and 1.2...3 were off. He takes off like a bat out of hell but i held my own until i hit the begining of 2nd and i hear him start to break up. I imeditaly start running him down and pass him very quickly just getting into 3rd. Then he preceeds to pop his hood to fix a vaccume line. In it he has a 1jz swap running 25 lbs of boost and every little fun part you can imagine. We run 2 more times and i keep winning the same way. Feels good to win especially against something like that but then it feels bad to win on a handicap. I should have taken his bets Anyway sorry for the long story

they came with the 2JZ motors...same thing as a N/A supra...thats why alot of people buy a Supra turbo kit, throw it on the IS 300 etc. and make great power...nice kill....One won a local dyno comp a few years ago with 620rwhp

One of the local cars down here, a SC300 with a 2jz swap. He is very very fast, look at the lead the other cars had in the video. And consider they are all 11 second cars.

God that video has to be about 5 years old or older.

Yes, yes it is. But it is a good example of what those cars can do.

No its not the same. The 2jzge, doesnt have a 6speed tranny, intake manifold is different, exhaust manifold is different, pistons, rings, cams, valve springs, etc.... It is still a robust motor and capable of making alot of power, but not as much as a gte.

Alot of people do due the 1jz swaps, since they are cheaper and capable of making more power than the n/a version. The 1jz is a 5sp though.

Im sure he didnt mean its the same exact motor..

Its some what simaliar and you can get very nice numbers out of the NA motor...

1JZs tend to be cheaper thats also another reason but honestly...DISPLACEMENT IS KING

So go for the 3.0
