03 cobra VS 2001 SLP SS
I am curious I own a stock 2001 fully equiped SLP SS M6.I was wondering if I were to drag race a stock 03 cobra who would win. I saw this white cobra that I am thinking of trading in my SS for ( 03 cobra). is it worth it or should I keep my chevy or traded in?

Lose significantly? I beg to differ. I can pull my Dad's brand new Z51 Corvette to my back bumper, in my bone stock 02 SS SLP. The Corvette weighs less than the Cobra, has better aerodynamics, and has more power. The Cobras are only low 13 second cars, that isn't that impressive, and we've seen a stock LS1 dip into the 12s on more than 1 occasion.
100rwhp of course not, but a noticeable difference above 60? Without a doubt.
There was an extensive test done by Sport Rider on SuperSport motorcycle's ram air efficiency, and the results would shock you. Positive manifold pressure after the filter at speeds as low as 45mph on the better ones. They are literally getting boost, without a compressor. No dyno will ever show this, but to say it isn't worth **** would be quite inaccurate.

Motor Trend is showing a 13.12 @ 109.58 for a 2003 Cobra Convertible. On the same track, same day, a 2003 Corvette Convertible turned a 13.02 @ 109.59, and that's down 55hp from the mid-12 Z06.

Just depends on how they want to trade you. If they dont want much boot then i'd say trade if the 2 cars are in about the same condition. It's kinda hard to say who'd win in a race..its kind of a drivers race i think. I did run dead even with a stock 03 or 04 cobra one night from about a 40 roll back when i was all stock except for a lid.

The Cobra will USUALLY trap 2-3mph higher resulting in a possible loss for you if the driver is good. People like to say there is a huge difference and many track times would indicate that but all of the street races I have seen between the 2 have been pretty close. Keep your LS1, it has more potential than a termi. Btw 11s are just $500-600 in a LS1 car too, thats not the logic you need to have for trading your car anyways. Why not buy a GTO? They are much nicer than a Cobra and they are still under factory warranty.
