Default Firehawk vs. Turbo Eclipse *VIDEO*

Video

We ran from 30 to 130. He told me that he just put down 374whp on the dyno. His car is a fully built 2WD 1997 Eclipse GST with a GT30 hybrid turbo capable of 600 hp. He was making tons of boost....

I actually faired a little better than I expected I would..

My car is a 6-speed, and my mods are in my signature.

You could've probably smoked his *** from a dig. Took him a while to spool that sucker up.

Thing has some damn turbo lag. Good death, bulit 4g63's are nothing to laugh at. You held him off pretty good untill he hit full boost.

Wow what a kill! I hate to say it but if he would have brake boosted and shifted faster you would of got annihilated. Good death and keep modding, it wont take much to beat him(i.e.100shot).

not sure about that, if he's as built as it sounds. 2 step and awd make for a HARD launch

says its a FWD not a AWD. Quick little car but he definitely needs to learn how to brake boost. I'm surprised he pulled you as much as he did. I ran a 350+rwhp AWD eclipse when I was stock with just the juice and we were neck and neck from a highway roll. I realize AWD will be slower from a roll but I don't believe it to be that large of a difference with it being FWD and a little more power.

Him being fwd he's got more to worry about than spooling up fast from a dig, he'd spin if he'd put any real power down.

Cool race, thanks for the vid! Hopefully onebadassws6 won't come in here and crap on this thread.

True, but then he could throw some smurf juice in and up the boost. If you smell race gas the next time you race em he might be a good deal faster, the turbo is def. capable of more.

Good run man! You have some strong throttle response at 30!

FWDs do have good roll-on gearing, so if thats what the car is focused on they make sense. Note how nicely thrid worked for him. In an AWD he would not have had that clean a pull in the middle there.

GT30 based turbos are the best street car turbos for a 2L car IMHO. If I upgrade from my 16G thats the route I will go, either full garret or a hybrid.

Honorable for sure.

I thought GST's were all AWD? I'm probably wrong, I don't know much about imports.

You held him off pretty nice before he hit full boost. Listen to everyone else, a 100 shot will hold him off for good.
