Default 01 WS6 vs Modded Mach 1

Raced a Mach 1 mustang from a stop yesterday. His mods were 4.10 gears, intake, pulleys, shifter, full headers and x-pipe exhaust and drag radials. First race, i got him by about 6 cars, he spun really bad. Second race was much closer, he launched hard and hooked up, i beat him by about 2 cars at 120. I would guess that car in modded form would be good for about 13.5's.

wow, you really gotta be an idiot to spin DR's in a lightly modded mach 1.
Probably the "ohhh I'm gonna race ... MASH the gas" syndrome that I used to have a few years ago.

YeP ... took me a year or so to learn that, but I figured it out. DR's tho ... you really gotta be slammin on the gas to spin them.

Yes, Venkman's car is fast for what it has done to it. I'm not a casting number guru, but if he says he has an unusual block I would imagine he took the time to look it up.

BTW, I can confirm the race. I was the starter.

I would have to say thats one stout LS1 there putting #'s out like that. A car like that on DR's should be able to pull 11.9s at the track with that type of RWHP and RWTQ. Hell my car runs 12.2s with 342RWHP on DR's. As for the MACH 1 in that modded form that car should pull a mid 12second slip with ease. Being MACH 1s stock are pulling 13.3s on average at the track.

I have yet to see a Mach 1 run a 12. Most of the stock/lightly modded Mach1s I've seen have run mid-low 13s...

Same here. Never seen a Mach1 break 12's. Actually, I've never seen one get lower than a 13.2...and he had slicks, gears, shifter, and a few other goodies.

Hhhmmnnn... I did better than that on stock EVERYTHING
with a crappy 2.2 60' time.

More than a few Mach 1's have run in the 12's completely stock,
and modded cars are running in the mid 12's to high 11's.

Some of you need to do more thorough research on your competition,
while others have obviously done so already...

I even know a few N\A gt's running low 12's .

your car is making almost 50 hp more than most ls1's out there, stock. Are you the original owner? I suspect that engine has something done that you arent' aware of.

As far as Mach 1's doing low 13's that's believeable if they are on slicks. They all seem to average about 102 trap speed.

It don't matter though , its still a FORD!

Hhhmmmmnnn... that's funny - my car did 13.43 bone-stock, on the stock tires, with a crappy 2.2 60' time, and trapped ~ 104 mph.

A 13.0X is as easy as a better 60' time of 2.0 or so.

LOTS of Mach 1's are running low 13's with NO MODS,
whether you chose to believe it or not....
