Default LS1 Caprice vs 2007 350z (automatic_)

The LS1 Caprice had ran a 13.2 at the track the night before. As you can tell from the video neither of us had BIG troubles hooking up. (its not the first race but the second,..this is a video from a night_) starts at the 24 seconds- goes to 56 seconds.

[if you watch the whole video, the LS1 caprice races an 05 mustang on nitrous and loses by a car or so, then races a white mustang with I/E..and, well]

My 350z is... well, F-body stock.

http://media.putfile.com/october-racing

Since our race the caprice has added nitrous and made a pass at 12.7. I have yet to get a chance for a rematch.

Sorry guys, not trying to start ****, just have fun. Im actually here looking for some information on doing an LS1 swap into the ole' TREEFDY next year.

I have NOT added Nitrous, the car is just generally about 1 second faster at the strip then it is spinning on the street (my car runs low 14's high 13's on the street). The 98 LS1 (factory rated for only 305 hp) is still Stock.......just like it was when I raced you when you were in your factory rated 303 hp 350Z that was on the spray.

Video and more details here: Christine is a 1978 Caprice 2-Door Coupe 12.74 @ 104 mph with a Stock LS1 https://ls1tech.com/forums/12-second-club/817239-12-s-stock-ls1-what-kinda-car.html

Correction, I'm the "05" ahem... 07 Gt owner. The car wasnt being sprayed while racing Shawn in the Caprice. As a matter of fact, the car's only been sprayed twice on the street.

295rwhp / 317rwtq when I raced the Caprice. Now, on the otherhand the car has a 3v 5.4 and a 2.8 Kenne bell in it now. Still having coolant issues though.

So, get your **** straight before you try and fluff your car there 350z guy.

Nitrous LS1 Caprice! HA! Who would concoct such a monster?! I could only imagine how good that car would run with juice. I'D be scared to race it then!

(Does my car have nitrouses too?)

the 350z owner forgot to mention that he sprayed against that caprice....ive run the 350 off spray and spanked his *** like a red headed step child, then i run the caprice on numerous occasions and its always a decent race with the caprice usually pulling a car or so on me at the big end

Posting up a kill story only to have the owners of your opponents bust you out is PRICELESS.

That Caprice sounds nice as hell. What a sleeper some spray would make it silly fun.

Thank you greatly for the kind words and complements. I can only take part of the credit, a lot of friends and family had hands in getting Christine (my Caprice) up and running again.

I was thinking of actually adding the spray to it this year but cant afford it. As it was I only had enough money to drive it on the weekends during the summer (Gas seems to like liquid gold these days since they are charging an arm and a leg for it now), but if I run into some extra money I may try to get rid of the "hot air intake" currently on the car and try to fab up a nice Cold Air Intake set-up so it doesn't draw in the hot engine bay heat anymore.

Read the whole thing and this is great stuff.... And Henry I recognized your car before I even saw your post and thought to myself he hasn't said anything bout nitrous on the boards......Must be hustlin with that nasty sleeper build LOL

Lay off the crackpipe or take off the sake goggles OP.
(beer goggles for those who overhype japanese autos.....Sake goggles!!!!!)

Plus that I ran a 350 with at least exhaust and standard and I walked it hard when stock.

It's funny though how he says he wants an ls swap. Why if your trreeefdy's stock motor is so damn fast off the gas???? Why not just spray it LOL!!!!!

People couldn't believe that I could go from a 13.2 to a 12.7 with no mods... other then removing the front sway bar, learning how to drive and launch and shift the car finally.

With FULL fluids Plus me (I am almost 200 lbs) iI bet it is around 3800 lbs or so I bet. I am betting Christine is as quick as she is due to the fact that the stock LS1 is backed by a TH350 with a converter.
