yes with a built motor they do but not a stock shortblock, people actually believe that ****. It is like ricers thinking their cars are crazy fast. Pushing that much power on a stock short block is just a waste of all that install time and all the tuning with is also. Show me some proof of daily driver supras that are making over 1000 to the wheels with a stock shortblock and ok reliabality please someone show me.

The same way you and your import worshipping buddies on here (I'm sure they will be in here soon to help defend you) just cannot understand that one CAN still be an 'enthusiast' without liking and respecting a certain car. REGARDLESS of how much performance it does or does not have, nor is potentially capable of having. I know that this is a strange and 'foreign' concept for all of you 18 year olds raised in the rice generation, but one is allowed to think this way, whether you and yours like it or not.
I do not have to live by, or think like your (or ANY other import worshipper's) rules/bylaws/standards, no matter how 'popular' or 'given' they are assumed to be.

Ok, so you're just really closed minded. Thanks for clearing that up . And 180ls1, go find the information yourself. It's out there

you talk the supra up even more then the poeple who drive them. And you are telling me to look the stuff up take it from the supra owners thay will not pust 1000 to the wheels reliably on a stock shortblock. You my friend are thick headed. there is an invention called use it it will help you out unless you do not believe the supra owners.

haha i think all these close-minded kids are just jealous of the 2j bottom end. i dont see any other reason why they would hate 2js so much, its a good motor.

180ls1 states that you can't make 1000 HP on a stock Supra motor and then makes a statement that reliability goes out the window at 650 rwhp.

Earl3 comes back with:
actually, several of them have made more than 1000hp on the stock short block -I think thats what 88BlackGT was implying.
That's the problem with the "Import Fanboyz"(Thanks DD). You make a statement and they respond to something that you didn't even say. "Stock motor" isn't "stock short block". Then later..the argument goes to "stock block". Make up your minds.

So you can increase a BONE *** STOCK Supra's horsepower by 6 fold by adding more boost. Wow! You must be the king of Supra builders!

I surrender to the superior Japanese technology. I better sell my 1300 HP F-body and buy the first $100K 9 second Supra I can find. Then I can be just like my heros in the Fast and the Furious.

i think you missed the point. i never said it was cost effective. this all started when i said the 2j was a good motor. you dont think its a good motor? i think that a bottom end that can take that kind of power, and they still use the stock heads(albeit ported and w/ oversized valves) is quite impressive. you guys took me saying its a good motor as an attack on the precious LS series. relax, there are other good engines produced.

Good death. Losing to a Supra is certainly nothing to be ashamed of.

BTW don't forget to have the banana painted on your helmet. But make sure that the banana has a face, is showing an angry expression and has his mouth wide open.

That way it looks like a screaming banana

just buy an 03 cobra and crank up the boost. they will make 1k hp on a stock longblock never mind a shortblock.

dont bother mentioning it, its not impressive to them. you can build a completely new LSx and boost it to make those numbers. no to mention your fully built motor will be more reliable

I could be wrong, but that may be the only stock production engine that can achieve the 1k HP level with intercooled boost alone. Now I'll get grief from the boosted Z06 guys.

ya by compounding boost. the new hellion kit keeps the stock blower and adds 2 turbos. keeps stock exhaust manifolds. w/ just fuel mods they made 1138 at the wheels w/ 44 lbs at the motor. compounding boost is really cool, thats w/ stock eaton.
