Yeah...I got raped by a Supra back when I had a WS6.

So, I did what any self-respecting f-body owner would do......

sold my car and bought a supra.

Oh, and TT632, you are the reason most import guys don't like domestic owners.
You talk too much **** about anything that isn't a mid-eighties Camaro.
lol

Default Boys, boys boys, can't we just all get along?

Sorry to bust in ladys, but how much how fast is the argument here. The Supra is a hot car and yes, they can be deathly bad ***. But eons ago I used to watch the likes of Shirley Muldowney, Stone Woods and Cook, and Dickey Harrell at KCIR in KC and one of the baddest bracket racers there was an old Henry J(which I bet none of you even know what that is).. It was BUTT UGLY but ran everyone off cause the guy had it set up right. Does that make every Henry J Deathly?? Hell no.

Coupla years ago an Orange 92 -93 Honda came by Shootin' friggin flames out of his tail pipe. He slowed and I caught up to him. We hit it from 70 - 120, he kept up for about 300 yards and then I pulled away. He pulled over and we talked. He just got the car back from a local tuner. I told him it was surprisingly fast. He told me he just spent $10K on the motor. I spent $10,500 on my used 98 Z 28 convertible. How fast and how much you spend is the issue here, period. I say for the $$, you can't beat the LS F body.

Wake up! You do realize you are on a LS board! This isn't Supra forums.

I don't talk **** about anything that isn't a mid eighties Camaro? I like 90's F-bodies too! I may talk a little ****, but I can back it up.

Ok, enough **** talking. Nice Supra by the way. Lets race...I'll spot you a car.

That, and the styling is why the Transam/Camaro are the best game in the book. Power output per $spent = #1

$10k to run with a stock LS1? He must have not spent his money very wisely . But yes, dollar-for-dollar LS1s are pretty hard to beat.

tt632 you have a link to your buildup? sounds sick.
No link. Just your basic 421 blown alcohol motor with 2 76 mm hair dryers instead of a Roots blower. This is what a 15:1 alcohol motor will give with less than 12 psig of boost. No intercooler needed.

NO, you should mention it!!
That IS EXTREMELY "impressive' (to say the least) to me!
That proves that it does not have to be the Nippon Giant's (there, are you happy now 11s?? ), or any of the other japanese manufacturer's technology to make high boost hp on a stock bottom end. Like all of the import fanboyz think is the ONLY possibility.
I am NOT one of the LSx > ALL people.
I have NOTHING against Ford (I like a lot of them at least equally to GM's stuff).
I just cannot stand the imports and all of the smug fanboyism, and the national pride for JAPAN that these punks feel, as well as the economic/trade issues involved.
THIS is why I do not/cannot love/respect/worship the beloved MKIV/GTE that all of you demand I do to be considered a 'true enthusiast' and not labeled "close minded" by 18 year olds

So liking the Supra means I have national pride for Japan? Seriously? That's news to me. And I know good and well that the '03-'04 Cobras, GT500s, and Ford GTs are capable of holding 1,000rwhp on stock shortblocks. Which is also damn impressive. I do however consider it ATLEAST as impressive that the Supra was able to do so 15 years ago, with 2 fewer cylinders, and 1.6-2.4 liters less displacement.

ya im not a fanboy of anything. a fast car is a fast car no matter how its done. same way a good motor is a good motor. doesnt matter if its a dsm, ford, gm, toyota, saab, hyundai, whatever

I was smoking those cars when they came out and continued to do so as their millionaire owners and their tuners finally figured out how to get them to make power. The thing that made those cars fast was the size of the owners wallets. For a given amount of boost any LS1, LS2, etc engine will make more and it will start at lower rpm.

Don't get me wrong, I do respect what they have done with these cars, but the same boost on one of our engines will yield more power and better drivability for the same weight vehicle.
When LSX came out and people were making waves with the awesome performance it was cheaper to build a big power 2JZ than a big power LS1.

You can build a 2JZ pretty damn cheap these days.

And last I checked you did not see many EFI-no distriutor-strait sixes running around in 1955

The old stereotypes about it costing a bajillion dollars simply are not true. most of the guys I know who spend massive coin on their cars are in Domestics.

Save it. Get a pair of 35Rs. MM&FF got about 800WHP on a damn stock long block Termie with a pair of 35Rs. Hell even a smaller 30R variant will be pretty damn mean. T3 mnifolds for LSXs should not be too uncommon these days, god knows there is a demand.
