i would love long tubes but my DS safety loop comes out at a funny angle (reinforcements on it for safety) and it would be a difficult, cluttered set up.
lose some power sure, but worth it for ease of exhaust maintenace (cat insert/detele, muffler insert/delete.)
it does in my opinion have a deeper sound.

wish it could be a sleeper.
blower, front mount intercooler, frame ties, SF connectors, small blower cam, port and polished heads, fuel pump, injectors, 3.73, DRs for street slicks for strip, moser 12 bolt, DS safety loop, full suspension mods=nothing stock set up for 900hp launches, 3 1/2in alum DS, new trans and shift kit, short tubes, no cats or mufflers.

still hear man. funny how it shifted to the LS guys getting ripped on. and i never claimed i knew engines inside and out, infact if you check my posts i never claim that, i even state that i really only know the elementary stuff about them, i just dont have the time or money to sit and take apart my whole car each weekend being it is my daily driver.

yea seriously no matter what is like never say never. what if the ls1 launched at too high an rpm and burned out? or even the lt1, just stating. everyone got soo offended over this thread. i guess you just cant post anything about an ls being beat or you get flamed! [ puts on flame suit ]

i just dont like cocky ****** with cocky statements, regardless of the car.
some people are just too closed minded and narrow sighted. if you read my posts i give props to everything cobras and mach 1's to supras and LS1's all over this site.

and i agree a fast car is a fast car no matter how you put it. although we all may favor a certain few there is always gunna be a faster car of a type you dont necesarily like. plain and simple.
funny story, an Acura RSX type S beat me the other day from a 55 roll and he had a passenger too. but i could tell he either was n2o or turbo cause when he hit it the torque steer almost made him hit me! he only got me by about a car up to 90 but still i lost. and worst of all to an acura, i honestly hate japanese cars but i still gave the guy a thumbs up and went on my way.
now i cant be sure what power adder he had becuase i had the radio blaring and my car is pretty loud too, but all i know is he down shifted and i saw the car buck then i punched it, and so did he and right as he punched it the car started doing the side winder front end going right and left till he straightened it out, so i was thinking maybe nitrous and he had a switch? cause he pulled out about the full car then it was even till 90.
