Do you think your Trans Am is a sports car too? If you read the thread you would see that I was never "talking trash." Do you expect me to bow down and proclaim the F-body as God's own creation just because I'm on a GM website?

Yeah, I'm really getting tired of some of the people on this site. I wonder if it would be different if I had gotten the WS6 that I wanted, and still said the exact same things. My guess is yes.

^ it doesn't matter if you think it is or it isn't or what I think. Its not worth starting an argument over something that sounds like a matter of opinion. Do you think the argument is going to end? Probably not.
Personally I don't care wether you or anybody else think it is or isn't. Its fast and handles good and that's my definition of a sports car. If you don't think so call it whatever you want to call it.
I think a Mustang is a sports car as well.

A Corvette is a sports car... an F-body is not. Drive a C5 and then drive your car and you will understand what I'm talking about. Or hell, drive a Miata and then your car. The amount of power a car has doesn't have a damn thing to do with whether or not it's a sports car. No matter what you do, an F-body will never be a sports car. No matter what you do, a Mustang will never be a sports car.
Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) - Cite This Source - Share This
sports car –noun a small, high-powered automobile with long, low lines, usually seating two persons.
Also, sport car.

Considering the first "sports cars" had less than 100hp, seems like maybe you should use something other than dictionary.com to make your arguments
. Miata, Boxster, S2000, MR2 Spyder... those cars are throwbacks to the old school sports cars, and thus are among the purest of "sports cars." Regardless of how fast they are/aren't.
Edit: And last I checked, F-bodies and Mustangs were far from "small" cars.

Jesus. You people just dont get it do you?
I just ******* said that the LS1 is the better drag platform. Get over it. Nobody is challengine you or your dick size or your cars supremacy over enerything on Earth.
Let me spell it out (again) for you:
The LS1 and the larger displacement domestics are the better drag cars
There, now you can feel secure in your manhood.
Back to the ******* point. People bag on 350Zs as if they simply cant hang with anything sporting a Bowtie without FI. This is incorrect. People act as if a newbie driver in a stock LS1 will trounce a veteran in a 07 350Z. This is also incorrect.
And people also claim that it takes a billion bucks to make any import fast, even though they dont know jack **** about imports. Again. Incorrect.
Thats it. No more or less from me on this subject.

Guess what fanboy? They are about equal on the road circuit too, just check the SCCA T2 Runoff results. A 10year newer platform that is slower in a drag race and runs in the same league on the race track.
I'm not impressed.
A REAL sports car did win - taking 1st-3rd. A Pontiac Solstice GXP. Go figure.
But if your saving grace is a higher class in NASA, yay for the 350Z. It's still considered ugly and rather poorly designed with an obnoxious, huge cross brace in the cargo area. And an engine that is considered rough at higher rpm.

Do they have an option for "muscle car"?
To make it easy they classify them under "sports car."
Actually to quote them "The muscle car lives."
According to who? I have never heard anyone not call a 240SX a sports car.
Thats because they had solid rear ends...
The insurance companies define anything "sporty" as a sports car. You will see them claim many many FWD cars as "sports cars".
To make it easy they classify them under "sports car."
Ohh....and ummm maybe the people that built them.
GM classifies the Fbody as a sports car.
GM classifies the Fbody as a sports car.
I had a Nissan 240SX, 5 Speed RWD posse, 2700lbs and Super Hicas All-Wheel-Steering and that was not classified as sports car....
Why? because its not.
It was intended to be 'sporty'.
Sports car and sporty... two different things.

Grand Prix's and Monte Carlo's, although when older (70's, 80's) where long, 2 door rwd V8's.
But they are coupe's.
But they are coupe's.
Even todays they are not insured as sports cars, because they where never built for that purpose.

And I like the fact that instead of leaving your post only semi-childish, you EDIT it and push it right over the edge. What **** do I talk, pray-tell? Do you not believe me when I asked him where he's been because I love F-bodies? That was my first choice when I bought this car... followed by the GTO. **** happens, and I have this car. If you think it's ugly, good for you. And yes it's yellow. I'm very glad you can see colors. As far as what it runs, I haven't been to the track. But I would wager mid 13s on a good day. Thanks for your input though ![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
