I see that the 07+ 350Z related threads here on the 'Tech are gonna start getting as rediculous as the ones that have been popping up on Mustangforums. ![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)
I think many ppl will, in time, appreciate the advancement that the new Z's have made............and many of us already do. But some of you Z advocates are trying a little too hard to argue for the respect....instead of just letting your rides earn it like everyone else's. Haters will always be haters. The rest will learn what the cars are capable of as time goes on.

I love F-bodies, where the **** have you been? But I still have the ability to see things for what they are and aren't, and they aren't sports cars. They can be made to handle really well... for a car with a live rear axle. But the majority of people that modify them, do so with straightline performance as their top priority. Just like Mustangs.

are you serious? maybe its just the sections i visit most often, but almost every fbody i see that is modded around ls1tech is lowered at some point. my impression is that the cars that are dedicated to straightline performance are the minority. from my limited understanding, i'm under the impression that lowering your car negatively affects straightline performance... stiffer rear spring rates reduce front-to-rear weight transfer, lower control arm angle change reduces traction on launches...

2006 Z's also have LED taillights--the only 2007 exterior difference is the hood really. It's awesome how vehemently everyone defends the LS1, as they should since it's an amazing engine. Whoever said the engine for the 07 hasn't changed from 2006 is a dumbass, however. To say the Z's engine is crap is ludicrous. Yeah. 308 hp out of 3.5 NATURALLY ASPIRATED liters IS crap. Honestly, are you that stupid ![Punch](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_punch.gif)

What is a sports car then?
And my fbody handles quite well thank you very much.
Why are you so dumbfounded?

I've been as impartial as anyone in this thread, acknowledging the positives of each engine and quickness of the LS1 over VQ35HR. It's obvious you didn't read any of my post, looked at my sig, and posted. I was simply saying 300+ hp from 3.5L isn't bad at all. Seriously, what on earth is wrong with that? Are you THAT protective of your f-body?
And yeah, I'm pretty unbiased seeing as I've owned a T/A and been in the f-body community for, oh look, longer than YOU.

Classified by WHO? Your insurance company? Some insurance companies classifies Jeep Wranglers as sports car too, because they're two door convertibles. Hell, my '94 Integra GS-R was classified as a "sports car" by my insurance company. But it wasn't.

Ohh....and ummm maybe the people that built them.
GM classifies the Fbody as a sports car.
And unless your ricecan was RWD,I doubt they classified it as a sports car unless they are complete morons.
I had a Nissan 240SX, 5 Speed RWD posse, 2700lbs and Super Hicas All-Wheel-Steering and that was not classified as sports car....
Why? because its not.
It was intended to be 'sporty'.
Sports car and sporty... two different things.
Grand Prix's and Monte Carlo's, although when older (70's, 80's) where long, 2 door rwd V8's.
But they are coupe's.
Even todays they are not insured as sports cars, because they where never built for that purpose.
This is a moronic argument.
Even down to the core this topic is subjective.

Tell you what, go compare to how many F-bodies are in the 9s and 10s and go find more 350Zs that are. ANY car is faster with FI and they have hardly gotten "a lot" better from the factory. It's a shared platform with a shared motor that happens to handle well, that's it.
I just ******* said that the LS1 is the better drag platform. Get over it. Nobody is challengine you or your dick size or your cars supremacy over enerything on Earth.
Let me spell it out (again) for you:
The LS1 and the larger displacement domestics are the better drag cars.
There, now you can feel secure in your manhood.
Back to the ******* point. People bag on 350Zs as if they simply cant hang with anything sporting a Bowtie without FI. This is incorrect. People act as if a newbie driver in a stock LS1 will trounce a veteran in a 07 350Z. This is also incorrect.
And people also claim that it takes a billion bucks to make any import fast, even though they dont know jack **** about imports. Again. Incorrect.
Thats it. No more or less from me on this subject.
