Ran a GT500 last night..nice car
I passed one on the way home and he got behind me after I passed him. We were cruising about 80 and I had a car on my right when I see him shoot over to far right 3rd lane in an attempt to pass us both. We were coming up on a long straightway so I threw it in 3rd and floored it. I got up to 140 in 4th when I backed out of it and I was probably a good 6-7 car lengths up and climbing. He eventually pulled up beside me and gave me a thumbs up as he went by.
My car runs like a raped ape on the highway but I surprised I put that much distance on him, I thought they were quicker. Nice looking car though, I wish it didn't weigh so much and handled better.

That was the only the 2nd one I've seen on the highway and I was surprised he ran it but happy he did. I've been curious as well as to how they did on the highway with that V8 & SC. I normally don't run cars on the highway unless they're being a-holes and asking for it but this was an exception. Had a carrera S4 try to pull away from me one day in about the same place. The look on the face of the guy's wife as I quickly caught and passed them was priceless.

or the guy needs a very bad driver mod. because they have nearly 100rwhp more than you. they way alot more but it should have been a close race.

If it wasn't the real thing it was an top of the line copy down to the badges. Based on that I'd say it was the real thing. I don't know about the 100rhwp difference though, if it's running 475+ rwhp on a mustang dyno that's Ford GT territory. Most of the dynos I've seen on them have been in the 415-430 range on a dynojet and 390-400 on a mustang dyno and my 375rwhp is on a Mustang dyno so it would be 400 or a little more on a dynojet. Similar HP and I weigh several hundred lbs. less, the distance seems reasonable from that aspect.

Exactly. There are multiple stretches of highway where you can run that fast with no other cars in front of you for a long time. Plus you see them long before you ever get there. Going from 80 to 140 and back to 80 doesn't take very long in this car.

Coming home from a easter get together. Black C6 with stingers pulled up and i knew it was on. Light goes green and i got him pretty good out of the hole but by the top of first gear he was rocketing past me. Wheels suggested an LS3 and god was it FAST. Totally canceled my plans of going with a sleeper cam. Want something wicked now!!!!!

it's probably 3,350-3,400 with me in it. The GT500 is more like 4,100+ with the driver in it. The extra 700+ lbs. is a killer. At 10rwhp = .10 and 100 lbs. =.10, with 700+ additional lbs. he'd need to be running at least 70 rwhp more then me just to stay even (all other things being equal of course).
