I wish I had a camera. Was awesome.

So just took my car out of storage and picked up my buddy who has been dying for a ride.

So just clowning around and cruising and I spy a red C6 Z06 in the opposite direction (we were both stopped at a light). He turns and gets on it so I think its game on. My light goes green and I chase after him. He gets in the turn lane to go on the highway and I am scrambling looking for my iPass or change to get on also. I didn't find it (left the iPass in my TBSS) so don't follow him. At this point I think I just missed my one in a million Corvette owner who was actually willing to beat on his car!

So I continue on and sure enough what do I see a mile or so up a different road...4 big round tail lights. Okay cool another vette, so I come behind him at the light and I notice the stubby spoiler, the fender flares, and the fat tires. Hot damn a black C6 Z06! Turns out I am buddies with the dude on the bike that was in front of him.

We get out infront of traffic and do a light hit. I was in the wrong gear (3rd) and he jumps. When I got into boost he stopped pulling on me but by then he was probably 4-5 cars up. So we stop at the next light and are side by side. Light goes green, we are at about 5mph and both hit it. He pulls about a foot then I get into boost and get about a fender up, then I have to shift. He gets back even at that point. Then he shifts (60mph at this point) I am in boost in 2nd and get a fender on him. My turn to shift and get it into 3rd. My buddy sitting shotgun says we were DEAD even at this point. I go for a little in 3rd then shut down. Don't like speeding THAT much on a public street.

All in all I am very very very happy with my little turbo car. Didn't think I would be able to hang with a Z06 but it did.

After parking and BSing turns out the Z06 had a K&N filter/intake thingy, the bypass valve mod (whatever that is), and the dude is planning heads/cam/intake/spray OR Ls2 block/forged and twin turbo.

I have the TTi Street kit with a T76 running like 6psi on a stock Ls1 w/fuel. Dynoed 444rwhp/475rwtq.

Well friday is high school night at GLD. Not picking but I have a buddy thats a shop teacher going up there with his class... Thought about bringing my junk up for a few passes for the kiddies. We will see. You should come up there fly boy!

Thought you were parting out the Turbo? Guess you decided to keep it? I'm still debating about just throwing in my Procharger and trying to keep the boost down.

Yeah, those Z06's really can move...I raced one once thinking I can hang but I got pulled on...330whp and 400 torque just ain't enough... I need 444whp like you man...Good run..

Good races OP. Those C6Z's are powerful, light, and aerodynamic. I'm glad you gave this guy a good run, I would have been assraped so hard... sad.

Yes you would gotten spanked, just like I did...As we sport around the same HP's...You need to be in the 400whp range to make it close... Z06's I am very impressed with...I test drove one and that first gear is long and wickedly fast... Love that car...Wish I could afford to own one...

Those new Vipers are about as fast as I just got cleaned by one those too... I need to stick to the AMG's, Camaro's and Mustangs... Much success against those slower cars..

Well keep in mind we only went up to about 80mph. I am sure it would have started to get walked in 4th gear...especially in 5th.

Those damn things can get to 198 mph!

yeah, aero really comes into play at around 100mph. I try to keep races under that with my rolling brick.

To the guys saying you wish you could afford one.. I just looked on Ebay and saw quite a few 20-30K mile C6Z06's for 44-50K...

They arent 80-90K cars anymore and maybey you can afford one !!!NOW!!!

Even the 08's and 09's sell for as little as 67K now..

A year from now a 2006 Z06 will be in the 39-45K range..So go get em guys
