Default WilWood brakes on the street?

I've heard that WilWood calipers "kits were never really intended for street use and lack dust seals, provisions for shims, etc and can be very loud on the street."
I was wondering what the real world owners thought of this. I'm more interested in those who drive the cars on the street a good deal and some auto-x because that's what my car will see most likely lol. Thanks in advance for any information or advance!

Wilwood kits aren't bad at all...but they are geared more toward a race setup. They can be noisy, but usually that is due to the particular pad compund Wilwood uses. I've seen plenty of people run them on the street without ill effect.

My car is nowhere near a daily driver, but I do use these brakes on the street. They work great. Sometimes they squeak a little. Im sure you can get a pad thats quiet though. The only thing that sucks is when it comes time to replace rotors. They cost!

I'm thinking I'll go with these when I upgrade again. The kit is a 4 piston caliper on 13" 2-piece rotors. Lighter than the stock 10.5s or my current 'LS1' brakes. Should be better looking too...

I pretty much did the same thing, forged billet superlite with 13" 1 piece solid rotors. Not on an F body though.

I got the 6-piston superlites w/13" 2-pc rotors and originally I have been added about 20K miles on them since I installed them, they currently have Porterfields in them and I must say I have been VERY happy with them.

the stopping power is VERY good.

I already bought Hawk replacements, got them from Sam Strano. I got the type of brake pad info from the salesperson from revolutionbrake.com and with this particular code I can get any pads from any of the big brake pad manufacturers, so I am definitely not limited to my choices of brake pads.

Best thing I ever could have done for my car.

thanks for the links and info. I'll probably get the BP-20s as well. I'd like to see other pads on those graphs as well.
