Why does my camaro sag in the back???
So my 2000 camaro sags in the rear passenger side. I thought originally that the issue was the spring was bad but I recently lowered the car and the car still has the sagging in the rear passenger side. Anyone ever seen this or know why it might occur and how I might fix it????

why do you think the car is still sagging if you just recently lowered it? Did you take any measurements? Do you have anything extra in the trunk that might cause this? How much did you lower it ?

lol! Well Im not "thinking" its sagging. I can see it clear as day. Many of my friends that have dealt with f-bodies plenty of times have never seen it occur on their cars theyve owned. It sagged before I lowered it. It sat about an 1 1/2 above the tire and now it sits parallel if not a couple mil under the top of the tire while the drivers side sits at standard height. Ill try and get some pix

I believe the previous owner wrecked it on a head on. Ive found documentation and evidence of it on the body of the car from tape lines and small things here and there. Ive never thought of that before. The dealership never mentioned anything about it..go figure!!

is there a fat girl in the back seat? is the tire on that back side smaller than the others? but for real i'm a collision tech an i would'nt rule out that its been wrecked and not straightened perfect, the right way isnt always the way that makes the money fast in body shops you know? shitty deal but its the truth. you could take it to a shop with a frame machine and they could tell you no problem what the deal is, but that isnt always cheap. ive seen a bad shock do it to,

well I went back and checked again dropped the springs out measured and even changed sides still no difference. I also found that the right side is totally on the bump stop and the left side isn't. It comes out to about a inch difference I don't know what else to do the isolator are back in the holder in the body and sitting flat on top of spring.

A sagging rear is SUPER common on these cars. Normally, it's caused by the factory springs just gradually wearing out. Sounds like you may possibly have some other issues, though I can't imagine what. The easiest fix would be replacing the rear springs with some that have less of a drop.
Do you have stereo, nitrous, battery relo. or other stuff adding weight to the rear? A full gas tank will lower the rear a half inch or so, I know for sure (that's 80-100 lbs back there when full over just a few gallons).
My Air Lift helper springs, some call them drag bags, work really well. They lift and firm the rear and are awesome for traction. The only downside is they only hold the air for a day or two.
New springs will settle, the fronts will take much longer than the rears. Your issue may resolve itself some over time.
You could also put Konis in the front on the lower perch for a good fix. If I were you, I would put slightly taller springs in the rear and call it a day. This would be a permanent fix, too.
