BMR vs. UMI Torque Arm
Do either of these products have a design benefit or flaw that out-weigh the other? I am concerned about the welds at the front end of the UMI torque arm as compared to the single weld on the BMR version.

Hello
Thanks for considering UMI Performance! We have not had any problems concerning the welds on the torque arm! We designed ours to use the factory style bushing. And our non adjustable has -2 pinion angle built in it. On a factory ride height vehicle. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help!
Thanks
Brad

I wouldn't worry about the weld. I haven't seen anyone say theirs has broken (you are more likely to break the tail shaft of the transmission first w/ the stock location). I put the UMI TA on my car and it is a quality looking piece.

i love umi's products but i run the bmr torque arm because of the tube end and bushing. umi uses the factory style. i have a bmr torque arm with the umi relocation crossmember because the umi arm was ripping through the bushing like a hot knife through butter. it worked great up until i started drag racing all the time. i also never had any issues with the welds failing.

The question is which design will bend and deflect more.
BMR uses 1.25" diameter DOM steel tubing (Drawn Over Mandrel) with a wall thickness of 0.120" for our TA001 and
TA002 torque arms. This is much stronger than a stock torque arm or any torque arm with a stock-style front end.

We use this same model in our magazine ads with GM High Tech magazine. She'll be in Fastest Street Car magazine soon as well as some Mustang magazines.
However, you would be surprised how many car magazines WON'T let us run an ad with her image.

Well I bought the BMR one. However, I also bought UMI: sfc's, lca's, phb, and a stb with my order. I chose what to buy from my inference of each products design and price along with everyone’s help so thanks guys.

Thanks for choosing UMI Performance and your business with the SFC's, LCA's, PHB, STB. I am sure that you will not be disappointed in the quality and performance.
