Default Anybody adjust their REAR Koni 4/3's before installing them?

Hey guys,

I just bought a set of Koni 4/3's.. as we know, the rears are only adjustable off the car. So i was just curious if anyone adjusted their rears before putting them on.

My car is going to have about 450RWHP when it's running, 315's in the back, no weight reduction (if this helps at all). It's a total street car, I don't go to the track.

All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks everyone!

Just set the rears on full soft, up front it depends on what springs your going to run with the Koni's; factory (+3 sweeps from full soft) or lowering springs (+5 sweeps from full soft).

My car came with Koni's and I'm wondering why you say you can't adjust rears on the car. You just move the carpet away. Mine's cut and can see top of shock if I remember correctly. Now when you guys say full soft, is that the rebound or compression side, or both? Atleast I think these have both adjustments since it's on top and bottom. I'm just trying to figure out what to put my car at. It's new to me and I have no idea. Its stock, well 1LE stock. Thanks

You've got Koni DA's, not SA's. The click adjusters towards the bottom of your shocks are for the compression dampening, IMO leave those on full soft. Later once you have a better understanding on dialing your shocks in for your needs/wants you might want to try adding a little compression dampening.

For your rebound Dampening try 3 sweep from full soft up front and for the rear try 1/4 turn from full soft.

These are good starting points, you might find you want more or less rebound dampening.

Here's some suggested reading to get the most from your shocks.

Holy crap. Forgot I had this thread. I just got my fronts shipped in.. so I'll adjust them now. I'm running Eibach Pro Kit springs. So 5 turns from full soft? Which is full soft? The minus or the positive?

Also how do you adjust them? Just put an allen key in there and turn it?

Thanks guys

Do you have the LS1(Front 400 lb.in.)or LT1(front 377-600 lb.in.) Pro-kit?
There's a big difference in the front spring rate!
Read about the rebound adjustment.

I have LT1 pro kit springs. I just adjusted the front koni's +5 sweeps from full soft. I started all the way at negative and went +5 towards positive.

Should I make any changes due to the LT1 springs?

Thanks for your help so far

Nope, you're good-to-go.
