Default Should I go 3 point SFC for autocross?

I have a set of used 2 point sfc in the garage, but I'm wondering if I should just do 3 point right off the bat.

I'm already in ESP class so bolt on SFC are aloud.

Just wondering if I should spend the extra money or will my 2 points be enough?

Depends on the two points you have. I am a big fan of Hotchkis SFC's. They tuck up really nicely, are very stiff and are not invasive at all once installed.

I would always pick boxed over tubular though, so if your bolt in's laying around are tubular, even though they may help a little, I would have to think long and hard about putting them on.

IMO if and when anyone does SFC's, 3-points are the only way to go. UMI's 3-points tuck up great and the car has almost zero flex now. 2-points aren't bad, but for the extra few bucks I would spend the $$$ on 3-points. These are the ones I'm running...http://www.umiperformance.com/catalo...roducts_id=197

Ya unfortunately I don't know the brand, I'm pretty sure there a boxed setup, there not as flimsy looking as some of the ones I've seen.

Just trying to do it right the first time.

If it helps any I'm about dead middle between two regions here and I will probably be double dipping a lot in events since I'm enjoying it so much.

I really like my 3pt UMI, I noticed a lot of difference during tunrs and braking. There are a few other 3pt SFC, SLP is one I cant remember the other brand though.

UMI has never done me wrong on any of their products. Everything has fit like a glove and the quality is A+. I reccomened the bolt-In SFC vs weld in's in case you ever need to remove them. The bolt-ins are just as strong. After a few hundred miles re-check the bolts to make sure they are snug...which mine have always been!

I agree with the general consensus, if you get SFCs go with 3-pt SFCs. I personally have UMI 3-pt CM SFCs on my WS.6 and I would buy them again.

Hello Everyone!
Its great to hear that you are satisfied with the quality and performance of our products. If you are looking for maximum strength when it comes to a SFC then the 3pt SFC are the way to go. They not only tuck up well but we manufactured them to tie all 3 of the weakest points together on the chassis. Therefore giving you better performance. And also helping with the weight transfer as well. Either way I can assure you will not be disappointed.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
Brad

As far as autox results goes.. I'm pretty sure they won't make a difference whether you get the 2 or 3 point. You'd mostly be getting them for a hair more chassis rigidity

Are you sure you don't mean you would pick tubular over boxed? Tubular is much stronger than box.

No. Square tubing is actually more torsionally rigid, all things being equal of course.

Hello
Yep! Like mentioned above we do offer a chrome moly version of a 3pt SFC. We offer them in both weld on and bolt on versions. And they are a little more $ but if you are looking to loss a few lbs of the vehicle its the way to go. Below is a link to show you what I am talking about. You will just have to click the drop downs for the material choice.
