Hello
It sounds like you have a weight transferring issue. I would suggest looking into a good set of adjustable shocks to help the matter. What it sounds like is you are transferring the weight over the rear end but it won't keep the tires planted, its rebounding to fast. So if you went with something that is adjustable you are then able to adjust the compression of the shock and the rebound. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks

Hello
I would replace all 4 of the shock. But it all just depends on what spring you are running and what type of driving is done with the vehicle. If you are looking for more of a handling vehicle then that is when a good set of lowering springs and konis would come into play. But if the vehicle is more for straight line performance I would suggest looking into a good coil over set up like a QA1 with a 300 front spring and keep the rear factory spring and go with a good adjustable rear shock to give you maximum weight transfer. Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer as far as coil over set ups.

How deep down the rabbit hole do you want to go for making a street car hook on the street? 555 Nitto street tires are awesome for street driving and last forever. They don't grip that well though, not even for a street compound tire for autocross. They are simply a nice comfy summer tire that works awesome for non winter driving. They cut through rain like butter.

You already have the basics that are needed to put your power to the ground (minus a torque arm) but even with shocks you have to get a little "bite" to initiate the weight transfer and once that momentum has started it takes a soft compound tire to maintain traction or the tires will start spinning and the suspension will unload. If your car is a daily driver, probably the most aggressive tire I would put on it is a Nitto NT05. It's not the best, traction-wise, but is plenty soft and will still channel water well enough to be safe on the street.

Me and my buddys all hook up fine, even on street tires. Everything from stock to low 11 second fbodys, on street legal drag radials, hardly ever a problem hooking, unless we have bald tires.

So y'all hook up on a street with no VHT or pimp juice on it? With a pereped street I can hook ok on street tires. But with no prep I'll spin for days

i have a full bolt in susp minus shocks and a trq arm . i cant hook on the street to save my life even with m/t street radials . my car transfers ok but it still spins horrible even on all motor . im gonna try a set eibach drag launch springs and rear shocks see how that feels

I have no problems hooking on the street with nitto nt555, not the drag radial, street tire. Car is h/c 436 hp, 400 trq. Granted in not dumping the clutch at 4k from a dig expecting it to hook, but any roll and I'm good.
