Fays 2 Watts Link
So, I finally got around to ordering a watts link for my car (thanks sam!).
plan to do the install next weekend.
from what i've read on here the two problems that i might run into are:
1) the u-bolts for the sway bar might be too short when the spacer is added.
2) the tabs for the brake lines get in the way of the axle clamps.
i talked to jim and fays2 and he said for problem one that he has the part number for a different set of u-bolts to use. he is going to email me the part number and where to get them from.
as for problem 2) i'm looking for input from people who have done the install.
what did you do about the brake tabs and how did you route the brake lines?
thanks
tony

You have to remove the brake tabs from the housing. Grind them down smooth.
get some thick tie straps & tie the brake lines down to the housing with those.
There is not many options for the lines to clear the axle tube clamps.
I did have to go with a custom mounting set up for my rear sway, those new U-bolts are the ticket.

I spent more time getting the brake line tabs off then anything else. The install is pretty straight forward.
I have the SLP dual-dual exhaust setup so I ended up reversing the propeller nut / bolt as I could not get the bolt in from the muffler side.
Take your time, use locktite where appropriate, torque everything correctly. I also marked every bolt with a magic marker at the 3 o'clock position. Used a red marker on the bolts so it shows clearly. If anything shifts it's easy to see.
I'm in my second summer with the link and have never had a problem and nothing has come loose.

One more thing -- I ended up making a 1" sway bar spacer out of square tube to move my SLP swaybar away from the axle mounts for the link. Put it between the axle mount and the sway bar bracket.
The spacers with longer U bolts did the trick, gave me lots of clearance between the link and the bar.

Everyone is telling you right, get the longer "U" bolts and grind the taps off. Heres mine installed, make sure you get the arms level. This is not a Fays 2 but close:
Good lucj with the install, take your time, shouldn't be a big deal at all!!

Nice job on the Watts link.....
Try adjusting the center pivot down to help adjust your roll center it looks like right now it pretty close to stock.
This adjustment should make noticeable differences in the handling characteristics of the car.
Dead on about the way cool looking part

I have this item and have been putting it off (too lazy in the summer heat ) Can someone tell me where I should start with the center pivot bolt. I think there are 5 or 7 slots ? Do you start in the middle or do you suggest a different suspension setting. The car is loaded with BMR & Strano parts on the suspension. So, I would like a setting that will show the handling upgrades for the street mostly. I'm open to suggestion.
PS: Yes, the part is way cool !
