Default Daily driver suspension

I need help guys. I had a formula with 177,000 miles and I need shocks. I want a better ride, something that doesn't shake my fillings out. I know koni yellows would be good, but I feel I might need new springs due to the mileage. So I am thinking the Slp bilestine with their springs might be better and slightly cheaper what do you guys think?

It's definitely easy to find a less expensive shock than the Konis but difficult to find a better one. That being said Bilsteins are good shocks especially if they have been revalved to work with a specific spring rate. At 177,000 miles any shock will be a huge improvement.

If interested, we are still running our Koni shock/BMR spring special. If you buy a set of Koni shocks, you get a set of our springs for free. This keeps pricing under $1k, more than the Bilstein/SLP springs but much less than any Koni shock and spring options.

If your springs don't show any sign of sagging then are fine and you only need to change shocks. I have SLP Bilstien's for $384.99/set, and Koni's starting @ $735/set.

I agree with Brett, given you mileage you'd see a huge difference with any shock change. But if you have no reason to lower the car, then don't.

Agreed with Sam, if you're not looking to lower, no reason to, especially on a daily driver where you may not want to give up comfort. Koni's with stock springs work great for me, and I've heard great things about Bilsteins with the stock springs as well. And if you're worried about your stock springs (they're most likely fine), you could probably find a set for cheap on the FS/FT section.

If you do want to lower, however, Strano's or BMR springs would probably be best.

That is the combo I have and it's great for street use/DD duty.

if you're on a budget, go with bilsteins. i love mine.

Just keep your stock springs and get a set of Bilsteins. Best ride you can have in an f-body.
