CTS-V or C6 Z06 Big Brake Kit?
So, I eventually want to get a big brake kit for my SS to fill in behind the 18's and have narrowed it down to probably the CTS-V kit or C6 Z06, but have a few questions...
1. Is there anywhere that you can just buy the complete swap or do you have to piece it together?
2. How much modifying is required to fit the BBK on a 4th Gen Camaro?
3. What all is needed besides rotors, calipers, and pads for the swap?
4. Would I be able to do this myself with a buddy on the weekend, or should I have a shop install it?
I believe that's all I'm coming up with right now. Whatever I decide to get I will probably get the calipers powdercoated gloss black with "Camaro SS" or just "SS" on the calipers...so what information can you all provide me with? Links and write-ups would be helpful also along with where to find the parts. Thanks!

Go with the Kore3 kit. I just did it myself a month ago. They supply everything you need as well as a few options along the way. The biggest modification you have to do yourself is cutting off the 'ear' of the spindle which is easily done with an angle grinder. Well worth the time and money.

What are you doing with the car?
The reason I ask is because the Vette calipers have their own set of issues when pushed hard in a race-track environment. The problem is that there are 6 padlets (one for each piston) per caliper and they can wear at different rates and even get tilted inside the caliper and reduce braking performance greatly.
The cure for this is a solid monoblock pad and IIRC Carbotech is the only one that makes it. It is quite expensive. That being said, when they run right, especially with the mono-pad, they are very good brakes.
The CTSV Brembos however just work no matter what. They may not look as cool, but they are more of a performance system and will always just work.. Pushed hard or babied, the brembos are very predictable and have little to no issues.
If the car will constantly see HPDE events and track days, I would opt for the Brembos myself, whether it be from a CTSV or Camaro.

The car is just a weekend driver/cruiser and maybe sees the strip a couple times a year. This would ultimately be for looks over performance. The stock LS1 brakes look tiny behind the 18's and the BBK would fill that in nicely. It's never probably going to be auto-x'd or what not. Just want something that looks awesome behind 18's and has good stopping power when needed...
