Cut rear springs to change ride height?
I have sportlines in the rear. The sit higher than I would like. Its kinda of raked now. I did the heater hose mod and it only brought it down a little. I cant stand the nose that the heater hose mod brought with it. I also have a 9 inch moser which I read raises the ride height a little. Car sat lower with the 10 bolt and spring isolaters than it does with the heater hose mod and the moser.
Here what I want to do,
put in stock isolaters to reduce road noise and lower the rear about half an inch than the current height.
Is it okay to remove some of the coil spring to acheive this?? I dont have the money for rear coil overs otherwise I would do that.
Thanks

It sits pretty high compared to the front.
Never heard of those? Have a link by chance?
It already does that lol
I wouldnt cut the springs, if you just install some adjustable spring perches you can adjust the height anytime you want. Just a suggestion though
+1, much stiffer! My first car had cut springs. If i drove over a toothpick, it felt like i was hitting a speedbump, at any speed.

Here is my thread and it goes over putting in the adjustable spring mount.

That will depend on the springs you buy. If you screw the mounts all the way in, then it sets the spring at the "factory" location or if they are screwed out then you can raise the locations 1 5/8". So depending on the drop of the spring you can adjust how you want the stance in the rear to be.

How did you cut them. You cant use a torch or the heat will screw with the spring rate. If you cut your springs with a grinding wheel or some kind of saw it wont make it ride any different, as long as you dont cut half the spring off of course.
