Default Irotors and pads questions...

I'm thinking of buying rotors from Irotors, and was wondering if anyone has them and how you fell about them? Also, if it is worth it to do the zinc plating? And if the pads that they sell are good, or would it be better for me to go with the Hawks HPS pads?" Thanks

Kevin

The zinc coating will wear away wear the pad contacts the rotor, but in other places it will still look good.

If you're more concerned with looks, then these are some good rotors.

Can't help you with the pads, sorry.

Default So far so good

I've had irotors on for about month and a half, and they work pretty well. I went with Raybestos Ceramic pads, good stopping power, and not much dust or noise. I don't go to the strip or auto X so they work good enough for me.

Like what was said before, where the pad touches the zinc luster goes away, but everywhere else it looks really nice. Good luck!

I originally put on Hawk HPS pads about two months ago I put on a set of OEM pads, the hawks dusted a little too much for my taste and there was little to no gain in performance, with the Hawks.

Installed iRotors and Hawks about 1 year ago (12K miles). No issues. As JD said the zinc will wear off of the rotor where the pad contacts the surface. The zinc still looks great on the non-wear surface!!

I've used the HPS pads on several cars for myself and friends and the difference has been very impressive. They have much more bite than stock and don't seem to make any more dust than stock (on the cars I've played with them on Camaros and Mustangs, etc).

Anyone have pics, I'd like to see how the coating
wears. That's the best price on the iRotors.

OK, thanks for the replies everyone. Now, has anyone ever bought the pads that Irotors offers? I'm just wondering to see if the pads are good quality pads or if I'd be better off buying other pads such as Hawks etc.?

I'm running iRotors (zinc plated) with Raybestos pads (ceramic front, metallic rear).
9 months, many track visits, no complaints!!
They still look as good and stop as good as the day I installed them.

I've had the iRotors disks and pads for about 8 months now, no problems at all with them. I really like the pads they sell, hardly any brake dust and no squeaks.
