We got the Viking DA shocks on all corners and it's easier to adjust and dial in for drag, street or twisties than it is to adjust my sons dirtbike for different conditions.

So far we've had excellent customer service figuring out a few minor issues. But looking forward to meeting the UMI guys in 2 weeks at LSFest to figure out a thing or 2 on his car. And when you get a reply from the UMI Pres. on a Sunday, that's service!!!
Excellent to hear and glad we've been able to help! See you at LS Fest

Are you guys running the car?

Well we solved our clutch problem that prevented us from running the last event. The LS7 clutch requires a larger bore in the master cylinder. We were using a Ram adjustable master cylinder which allowed the adjustment but was the same size, the Ram however worked great with the Ram twin disc. The Tick master cylinder offers the larger bore and so far the car is working good and shifting good.

No. not quite ready yet. He got his new wheels but saving for tires. Got a free set of C5 brake calipers and saving for the components to install.

Alot of plans and money comes little by little every 2 weeks for him.

Been out of the game for awhile, just bought a '98 Z28 and then found this thread. I've bought countless UMI products over the years for my previous 3rd & 4th gen car's and you guys are by far the best. This SS looks amazing. Love it all. Keep it up!

PS. I want to make an order for the '98 soon. Just a "few" parts, lol I'll let you know Ryan..

Here's a few pictures from Holley LS Fest where our 4th gen competed in the All Access program which is autocross, trackcross, speed stop and drag racing. The car had to also be judged in the car show to be part of the Grand Champion competition.

Here's a few pictures from autocross, trackcross and speed stop. the trackcross was held at the new NCM Motosports park where we ran half the track at 93 seconds.

A few pictures for the drag strip. We only got 3 passes and the car ran a 12.3 with a poor 60' of 2.2. A little suspension tuning and tires and I think we could do a little better.

NICE!

That red '64-'67 C2 you were running against in the a/x is EVIL looking!

That 1/4 mile time is not bad at all, considering the full road race suspension/shocks, full size fronts/BIG front sway bar, street tires (albeit 200 tread wear), and the resultant horrid 60' from all of the above.

UMI, how is the clutch pedal feel of the Tick MC and LS7 clutch compared to stock? My next clutch I would like to hold about 400hp/tq but work like stock so my wife can autocross my car as well.

The LS7/Tick by all intents feels stock. It's been the nicest feeling clutch we've had in it.

No slippage with our stroked LS1/AFR heads combo so you'd be A-OK with your combo and with your wife driving.

The 'vette is our buddy Mike King. He's a heck of a builder. Jerry gapped him pretty well in 3S (speed stop challenge) and Mike got Jerry by a bit in auto-x.

We learned a ton at LS Fest and will be making some changes for next season. We learn every time we race, that's for sure.

Now that we are quickly approaching the off season we have a few projects in the works. We took a little drive yesterday to see Sam at Strano Parts and let Sam drive the car, help with tuning and discuss some future product ideas. Same through the car up on his lift and we made some shock adjustments and discussed a few other things. We have some great ideas working together and some cool stuff coming soon we hope.

UMI and Strano working together - like that! I need to order some parts from them myself one of these winters...

Well winter seems to be flying bye and we are trying to tackle projects here at UMI. Our 4th gen is moving forward, we have spent a good majority of late last year working with Sam Strano on shocks but the snow has slowed us down. We still have the adjustable upper a-arm in testing as well.

Some changes to the car in process right now are wheels and tires so we can run 315 all the way around. The transmission will be sent to Bowler to get tuned up for this season. For power we worked with American Racing Headers to get a new set of headers and new y-pipe in. The quality is awesome and we can't wait to get these on.

Stay tuned.

The headers are pretty awesome. They're 1-3/4" x 3", stainless, Made In USA and should be perfect with our 383, AFR Mongoose's and TSP Torquer V2 cam.

We're excited to run them.

Pretty sure they were running 18's. So I can only assume going to 18's with 315's.

We will be running 18", correct. We ordered a set of Forgestar F14's through Strano Performance Parts. I don't remember the offset, Sam set us up. We will be running 315 Rival S this year.
