Been using this setup for 2 years now. I have one of the earlier sets. It's awesome, hubs last forever. Proven on any track driven corvette. We also used the x-trackers on the old Grand Am/PWC corvettes with zero issues. I was previously chewing through 3-4 sets a summer. Cheaper than the Hoosier hubs.
Yeah, I was willing to buy the HPE units, but they were in transition to a production unit forging and could not be promised on time. So I bought the SKF from them.
What do you current wheels weigh? Those are right about 22 pounds in that size.
That's damn light for such a big wheel. I currently have the stock chrome 17's that my car came with from the factory. Remember reading somewhere that they are around 20-21lbs. Looks like for roughly the same weight I get lot more rubber on the ground and clearance for a big brake kit.
No, they didn't. The HPE ones are a spindle that uses actual wheel bearings and a custom hub (and it retains ABS too). They aren't cheap, but you can see why when you look at them.
I believe you can also just keep the receipt for the Timken hubs from autozone, when they fail just swap out for a new one. Just becomes a nuisance doing this.

It is not only about the replacement, but potential harm to the car if you are racing.
As above a complete failure and front wheel falls off. As in my case a move to a fixed caliper IE CTV or Wilwood. If the bearing is loose, you will get pad knock back and a possible brake failure into a corner. We were seeing 168mph at one track. I do not want to go off roading at those speeds. A floating caliper can accommodate some bearing movement, fixed will not.
GM even puts software in the V cars now that taps the front brakes to close up any pad knock back to account for this.

Got any specials coming up soon?
They are pretty well made to order, and not exactly priced out of this world to start with, so the short answer would be, probably not, no.

I would say the "adapter" must have to push the hub out, which changes the track width and scrub radius where the HPE stuff won't.

Like I said I haven't seen it. Got a link? I'm not sure how you'd adapt a 3 bolt hub to a 4 bolt knuckle without something to match them. Not saying it can't be done just can't picture how.

Works well. Some major machining and quality work. that said, if the HPE units were available when needed, I would have bought them. My Wilwoods bolted on and no changes to track width. The ABS worked great till I cut an ABS wire on the rear axle. The pins did need to be swapped on the front harness as well, other wise plug and play.
The small bolt holes are for a brake duct plate. The four larger ones are for stock hub mount locations.
Uses a cnc machined billet steel adapter. Corvette hub is much shallower than f-body. Adapter fits tightly to corvette hub, gets bolted together. That assembly bolts up just like a factory f-body hub. When I was looking for a hub solution, the Hoosier products were unproven and they weren't able to deliver. These adapters had already been in use out west on some NASA AI race cars. Having said that, the Hoosier products looks amazing, and it's a great design. Had they been able to deliver I would have heavily considered using them. I was just tired of pad knock-back after switching to a fixed (Wilwood) caliper.
No, I didn't see it. Now I get it. Cool part. By they way, I have the SKF hubs too, $350 each. Listed on the site under Corvette.

A few updates. Our new power steering pump came in from Turn One today, we are also getting our rack rebuilt. We will be installing the new pump this week.
The new American Racing headers are on and fit great, extremely nice product.
NICE! I take for granted that is your latest, triangulated/reinforced ROAD RACE k member?
Those long tubes and y pipe tuck up nicely.
The car does have our road race k-member on it, it's about two years old though. It was the prototype for the new alignment locks that prevent the a-arms from moving in the slots. It has proven well!

I'm pretty sure we are having Turn One rebuild the rack as well.
I talked with Junior at Turn One and they are well versed in tuning that rack. They don't do any part upgrades in it, just a high quality rebuild using skilled technicians and premium parts.
