Default 6 Piston CTS V calipers

What I've had done so far.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-f...l#post18581564

Just prepped and painted the calipers with high temp paint and added the vinyls.

Still waiting on the wheels to come in.

The caliper bolts on top are on backwards, but they weren't tightened in the photo.

The 40mm offset wheels came in today. Time to get them mounted and see if everything clears.

Plenty of room in the wheel. Just hope the 40mm offset is good. If not I'll toss on a small spacer.

**Update**

Rear Wheels are still on back order. Can't install the brakes until they come in.

Pulled off the front shock assembly to prepare for the coilover installation. The front is a rusted mess. Upper shock bolt on the passenger side was rusted and could not be taken off. Had to cut the shock from the spring. The drivers side shock assemble didn't want come off the car. One of the TQ50 bolts decided to strip itself since it was also rusted to the shock assembly and it had to be drilled out.

The front sway bar end links also both broke off from being rusted.

Ordered all new front coilovers, endlinks, and upper shock mounts. Will have to remove all the rust from the front suspension and paint/rust proof.

Mounts were rusted to the shock. Had to cut thru the mount and the shocks bolt to remove.

Brake lines front were from flynbye and rears were standard size thru WS6 Store.

The front coilover kit came this week. The car is prepped and ready for the brakes and coilovers to be installed this weekend.

Test fitted the brakes and front wheels. The ZR1 wheels with 41mm offset have about .5 inch of caliper to wheel clearance.

I had to cancel my order for the rear wheels. Vendor had no ETA for the manufacturer to have more in stock so I had to reorder from a Vendor with them in stock. Should be in this week.

I'll post pics of the install later this week. Also I will have my OEM Speedline wheels listed next week in the forum classifieds and ebay if anyone is interested.

Got the front coilovers, front and rear rotors, and the front calipers installed.

Opening up spindle holes to accept larger bolts.

Had to center the caliper on the rotor using washers.

Centered and ready for 2nd test fit with wheel.

Plenty of clearance on all sides of the caliper. This week I have to install the brakes lines and bleed them. Will add the tires once the rear wheels decide to come in.

Nice! Where did you order the rotors and are they straight bolt on?

Looks great. I did the c5 Z06 brake upgrade and those were a great cheap upgrade. I don't think you can have enough brake. The c5s are nice and pull the nose down at 140-150 but they will fade rather quick.

What size are those rotors?

Finally have the brakes and wheels on. Finished it up today.

Also had to replace all of my radiator hoses as well. Had two collasped hoses.

Broke the brakes in. Stops 10X better than before. Emergency stops from 90 MPH are perfect without any rear end hop.

Next Up:

9" Fab rear end
Subframes
Twin Disc Clutch

Awesome build! I'm planning on 17" Weld wheels so I'll have to go with some other brake setup.
