What mod will help in wet weather?
I have had my TA a couple of months. I just put some longtubes on, a lid is on order, and I'll be porting the TB soon.
I hear everyone talk about doing SFC's and they are a great mod. But, would they help your traction is wet weather? I am asking because this car is crazy and VERY traction limited. Seem like 1/3 throttle at 40mph, it will start to lose it. I very much want to do something to improve wet weather performance and even better if it helps me hook up at the track. i know tires have alot to do with it, but I am not going there.
I am pretty knew and come from the GTP race scene. I know the 3.8L and supercharging pretty well. I have done a bit of work tuning on my friends outlaw car, but I guess I am asking for some sound advise.
What are the preferred welded SFC's? I am not lowering my car any either....
Thanks,
DEE

Or, as you said, tires.
Quick story.
I bought my 2002 Z28 M6 and on the 3rd day, it rained. I was suprised to find out that (while running Eagle RSA tires) that from a roll at idle, I could floor it and get no (none at all) tire spin all the way through 1st gear. Now, I changed tires and bought cheap, "Y" rated "all seasons" for last winter (then I bought snow tires and didn't need all seasons). These tires will give me wheel spin at 1/2 throttle, or less, in 2nd gear @ 40 mph. These things are so bad in the rain, I'm about to pull them off and get rid of them (they have 4,000 miles on them). So, tires and Mitch's reply will hold the keys to your answer.
With that said, no suspension parts in the world will do much for wet traction. For wet autocrosses, I crank my Koni DA's down to almost "full soft" which helps, some. You will not hook these cars in the rain, you must apply common sense to the right foot. Usually, self preservation kicks in and you will "ease up" before you wreck the car and risk personal injury.
They can be evil in the rain, just take it easy and use good tires and you'll be fine.
Have fun!

TIRES TIRES TIRES
Even though they won't specifically help with wet weather traction, SFC's are still a very worthwhile mod that you should get to improve "overall" feel and handling. I'd suggest the double diamond style weld-in, but that's just my $.02
